We enjoyed our stay with friends. The location was within walking distance to the beach and the pool was very clean. It was nice to be right on the canal to fish during downtime. The set up of the home allowed for each family to be on one floor at a time. It would have been a huge plus to have the checkout time at 10/11am for flexibility. 9am felt a bit early but we made it work. Overall a good stay!

Family Beach Trip to Destin

We had a great time staying in Destin with family! The house was spacious and in an amazing location—just a short walk to the beach, which made everything so convenient. Overall, it worked well for everyone. That said, the cleanliness wasn’t quite up to our expectations, and we were a bit surprised by the extra charge to heat the pool per day. Still, we made some wonderful memories and really enjoyed our time together

What more could you ask for!

The house was absolutely gorgeous. Holiday isle is an awesome area to stay. Quiet and relaxing but just minutes from everything. Private access to the most beautiful beaches and discounts to many local attractions. We had a vacation with our adult children and grand children. The whole experience gave us lots of joy. great except for the palmetto bugs

the property was great. location was great. it was perfect for our family needs but the palmetto bugs were out of control. the property needs to be sprayed way more often. also property was well worn in some areas like the kitchen and cracked tiles upstairs but did not prevent us from enjoying the space and our time at the beach

Family time

Everything was great, we had two 2year olds and were a little worried about the canal and the pool but there were many locked gates and doors that put our worries at rest. We would highly recommend a golf cart as the neighborhood is full of beautiful homes all on canals and many facing the harbor walk. It was a guarantee to make the little ones fall asleep in the afternoon and evenings and we all enjoyed the rides!

Holiday Isle Hotspot

Captain Jax was the perfect beach vacation home for our family getaway. Then 10 of us were more than comfortable. The property was equipped with everything we needed. The pool was a perfect size for our little ones (10,7,6,1). The proximity to the beach was great- just a short walk. The private beach at holiday isle is absolutely perfect. It was never crowded and beautifully kept. Our entire family agreed that we will return back to the holiday isle neighborhood in the future. The best part, however, was the communication with the property managers, breathe easy. They were FABULOUS. Highly HIGHLY recommend this group!!!

Now for a couple of quirks. The gas grill was locked up. Leaving a small charcoal grill as the only choice for outdoor cooking. Then there was the matter of only one card to access the private beach. This in spite of the gate having a number pad which could be used to access the beach. These were the only two irritations in an otherwise pleasant stay. I would like to add that Breathe Easy rentals is wonderfully responsive. I will definitely use them again in Destin.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rented property for a 9 person family vacation. Cleaning crew was still at residence so I didn't go in until after 6pm. Master suite carpet had a few stains on it to which I notified management. The refrigerator appeared to be missing a "catch tray" for the ice/water dispenser so water dripped on floor/ I alleviated this by placing a folded dish rag there to absorb the water. Family loved the place. Pool was perfect on those chilly days. Beds were comfy. Only real complaint was by the coffee drinkers (I don't do coffee) who said the coffee maker took about an hour to make a pot of coffee. Tried to get a cross breeze but only a few windows opened and had screens in them so didn't bother. I'd definitely rent this property again. Great location, great management company. Only thing we didn't use was the rolling cooler since it was too cool to go to beach most days.

Affordable, Great Location in Destin

The checkin and house/local information upon arrival and during the stay was top notch! We asked for the pool to be heated upon arrival (for a fee) and it was!... which helped because our first few days there had colder weather. The pool has multiple gates to get through which was perfect to keep the little ones safe. The kitchen is pretty stocked with everything you need also they have a lot of beach chairs with a cart that came in super handy. The location is just a short 5 minute walk to the private beach which is also key because there weren't as many people on our beach compared to the public beach down the way which was packed. There is another fridge in the basement which was super helpful and having laundry was excellent. Also big tip for multiple families: The basement bedroom and the bunks next door is the best: Quiet, laundry right there and large bathroom and away from everyone when mornings tend to get noisy with kids.. Our friends who picked the master bedroom said they wished they'd picked our room in the basement instead. I think our only cons would be the living room could use new couches and a new rug - they seemed old and stained and a bit dirty - or maybe they just need a good deep clean. Otherwise this house is perfect for Spring Break and we thank the owners for hosting us!
