I would not recommend this property. The cabin was smaller, darker, and more outdated than the photos suggested. The main issue was the lack of Wi-Fi. With little to no cell service on the mountain, we relied on it. It never worked despite two hours of troubleshooting. Because the Wi-Fi also controlled the thermostat and smart TV, we couldn’t adjust the temperature, watch TV, make calls, use maps, or check email. Instead of enjoying time with my elderly father, I had to drive to the lake for service.I eventually reached a Vrbo employee named Zach by calling the “emergency” number on the fridge. Zach was unprofessional and unsympathetic. When I called around 9 a.m. he said, “You think I want to be sitting here on the phone with you on a Saturday morning instead of being with my kids?” He confirmed there was no Spectrum outage and said it must be the modem. After more troubleshooting failed, he told me Spectrum could send a technician between 1–2 p.m. I explained that I needed Wi-Fi for my job but didn’t want to waste half my vacation waiting. Zach did not offer to send someone else or provide technician access.When I asked for a refund for the second night, Zach quickly replied, “Absolutely not.” When I mentioned reviews, he responded, “DO NOT THREATEN ME WITH A BAD REVIEW.” I explained I was not threatening, only asking for basic needs. The owner ultimately refunded our 2nd night. While we appreciated that, overall our experience was stressful and disappointing.
