'We booked for 2 nights to celebrate birthdays and mother’s day. Little did we know it would be the nicest weekend weather so far and the northern lights would be out so intensely!! The owners were kind. The communication was spot on and the property was amazing! 'My week vacation at Bay Cottage was wonderful and relaxing. Ed was a great host, giving me so much helpful information about the room, property and Port Townsend. 'I always rely on reviews to choose my stays, so I always want to be helpful to others. This property was very nice and secluded. It has two lower units and one upper unit. Two of the units (Lodge and Meadow) have a view of the water and very nice decks. The property has a nice hot tub and fire pit. Unfortunately, we were in the Forest unit. 'The hotel is a traditional hotel and in someway a bit outdated. But just because of this, it has its charm. The location in Fort Townsend is awesome and the staff is friendly. The beds are good. We had a bathroom with a old-school bath. I can imagine that this for older people is a bit difficult to use as the shower because of the high step-in.'

'With all my boys hitting 18 or older, it’s been harder to find something exciting and new to do for all their birthdays that fall within two weeks of each other. We have always loved visiting Sequim and the animal game farm. I was happily surprised to learn of this festive and unique castle that was full of all the fun amenities like costumes, decor, medieval type dishes, furniture, etc. It was really fun. My only regret is not staying longer.'
