'My wife and I spent two nights at the Manor House Inn while exploring Hadrian's Wall and other nearby Roman sites. We totally enjoyed it. From a great breakfast in the morning to an excellent pub / restaurant in the evening, everything was great. The staff was super hospitable and the housekeeping was excellent. Internet connectivity was also excellent. Highly recommended when you're planning on visiting Hadrian's Wall.'

Considering it was double would.not expect bathroom to.have a small.cloakroom size sink with no where to put anything and shower cubicle not spacious . Bed comfy. Felt we got short straw on room . Bar feels odd having to register for a table to sit inside and felt conducive to a warm welcome. Chose not to eat in pub '

'Troutbeck Inn is a gem of a place. The owners are lovely and we had a good laugh with them. The food is second to none and is locally sourced and cooked fresh. We stayed for 2 nights in September whilst walking around the Ullswater area and the location is superb. Right by a main road for good access but without an intrusive noise from the road. I'm sure we will be staying here again if we plan more walks in future.'

'The queens is a great place for a couple of nights. Lovely staff , very attentive staff great food and drinks. Our Dog was very welcome and the outside facilities and car park were great. 'Clearly an old property very quaint and charming. In need of some maintenance in some areas. The bedroom was spacious and well furnished. The ensuite was very petite, good sized shower plenty of hot water at a good pressure. The toilet area was cramped, tight to use. Great cooked breakfast Charming pub very friendly staff and locals. 'The cottage is absolutely beautiful. My partner went down with a virus as soon as we got there, and if you have to be sick on holiday, this is the place to do it.
