« First and foremost, the condo was clean and the beds were quite comfortable. I loved that it had a little balcony to enjoy my coffee in the morning and to view stars at night. It is in a beautiful setting and only 4 miles from Davis, where you can find places to eat. The location is ideal for visiting many natural areas and Blackwater State Park. It was very quiet the week we were there in early October too. »

« Perfect stay, minutes to Timberline and Canaan Ski resorts! We’ve been making day trips to Canaan Valley for skiing for three years now, and this was our first time staying in the area. Black Bear Resort is nestled in the valley with a stunning view of Timberline, the room was spotless, the en-suite jacuzzi tub was much needed after a day on the slopes, and the bed was comfy with lots of extra pillows and blankets available. Check in was a breeze, and we were able to quickly drop off our key...

« We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. »
