« In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that haven’t been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state. »

« We travelled by train, trasped with our heavy suitcase through the pouring rain to the hotel and asked, not for an early check-in, we were a good three hours early, just simply for somewhere to leave our case so that we could go out and explore. It was a resounding no. Consequently, we didn't spend another penny, not even a drink at the bar. A massive hotel like that and they can't even provide a room for luggage until check-in. Please don't bother replying with an excuse because there...

« Room wasn't serviced - breakfast expensive - asked for poached eggs which came and tasted of vinegar - asked for fried eggs which came and yokes burst and hard »

« Chambre exiguë, à se demander si ce n'était pas une chambre de bonne reconvertie (3 m de large sur 4 m de long), eau bouillante pour la douche à 2 reprises (2 matinées de suite) : merci pour les migraines de la journée ! Pas de wifi dans les chambres : nécessité de se rendre dans les salons et à l'accueil situés au rez de chaussée pour se connecter à internet avec smartphone et pc portable. »

« Lovely staff as usual.Rooms are as described, clean, and handful amentities. The botomless breakfast is really good too »

« 5 Star all the way, the guy on reception couldn't do enough for you, truly excellent. »

« Good for a night or two. Tired, empty large corridors. Walls are thin. But it's warm, and in a decent area »

« We stayed for two nights in the Marrakesh suite and loved it. A huge comfy bed, air conditioning, mini fridge, lots of storage and a large TV. Upstairs is a large jacuzzi bathroom complete with bathrobes and slippers. The host, Debbie was fantastic, she always seemed to be on duty and was very helpful. Breakfast was very good with a huge selection and could be taken in the dining room or in your suite. »

« Très bon séjour, personnel très accueillant petit bémol la taille du lit double très petit sinon tout était parfait »

« The property is clean and basic, in comparison to others we have stayed in at The Bay. However, the listing could be made clearer. Guests should be aware that there is no WiFi connection, they need to bring, towels, hairdryer and there are no basic cleaning products or toiletries supplied. »

« We had no running hot water other than the electric shower. No wardrobe just hangers on hooks. TV was the size of an iPad. Bottom bed sheet too small and forever coming off. Needs to be clearer when it states breakfast included but it is only cereal. Outside seating area not suitable as soiled with seagulls droppings »

« Lovely quiet accommodation just a few miles outside Scarborough good breakfast owner very friendly would recommend this B&B »

« Excellent location and wonderful room »
