Summary:
Number Five is a newly completed, architecturally designed coastal retreat positioned on the edge of the Onetangi wine valley and just up the hill from Onetangi Beach. With warm timber interiors, fresh modern furnishings, and a peaceful setting surrounded by greenery, it’s a relaxed and welcoming place to settle into island life.
The Space:
Designed for easy living, Number Five brings together open, light-filled interiors and thoughtful touches throughout. The main level includes the primary bedroom, a full bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living area finished with warm wood panelling and large sliding doors on two sides. When these are opened, the entire space fills with fresh air and natural light, creating a breezy, open feeling that connects you directly to the outdoors.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with clean lines and everything you need for simple meals or relaxed holiday cooking. The lounge is furnished for comfort, with a view across the lawn and the surrounding native plantings.
The lower level contains two additional bedrooms and a second full bathroom. This level is accessed externally, creating a private separation between the main living area and the guest rooms—ideal for couples, older children, or two sets of friends travelling together. All furnishings throughout the home are new, carefully chosen, and designed to make your stay feel calm and comfortable.

Casita Miro offers Spanish-inspired shared plates and hillside views; Tantalus Estate combines vineyard dining with its craft brewery; Stonyridge is known for long lunches under the olive trees, and Te Motu offers seasonal dishes in a peaceful rural setting. Obsidian is close by for tastings in a relaxed vineyard clearing.
For beachside dining, Three Seven Two sits right across from the sands of Onetangi and serves modern island dishes throughout the day, while Charlie Farley’s offers relaxed, family-friendly meals from morning through evening. All are easily reached from the property, making Number Five a great base for exploring the best of the valley.
