Charlies Farm Cottage - sunny central spot for fishing, swimming, exploring.

Charlie's Farm Cottage is a comfortable three bedroom holiday house located 40 km north of Greymouth. It is well equipped with all you need to spend a great time away in a home away from home. Centrally located, the cottage is a great base to explore the Coast or a place to meet family and friends to enjoy the river swimming and fishing. You can walk to the Pike River Memorial or drive to Historic Blackball. Mountain bike the tracks at Lake Brunner or tramp the Croesus and Moonlight tracks or try you luck at gold panning in the Moonlight creek.
The cottage is located on a farm run off block, so depending on the time of the year the view from the cottage deck can be animals grazing or contractors making silage or tractors working ground to establish crops. The cottage boasts amazing views of the Paparoa Ranges.
The cottage is family friendly with the section completely fenced and a gate across the driveway. There is plenty of toys, games and books along with DVD's to entertain the children on a wet day. The kitchen is well equipped to cook and cater for 10 people including plastic cups and plates for the kids. A BBQ is available to use and there is an outdoor table setting for dining outside.
There is a cot and high chair for little people and the single fold up bed can be set in any of the three rooms. The beds do not have electric blankets but the fire makes the cottage warm and cozy and there are oil column heaters to use in the bedrooms. There are plenty of spare blankets to use on all the beds or to snuggle up on the couch. There is lots of wood to keep the fire going but please note the fire does not have a guard. The hot water is on gas so lots of hot water for a soak in the bath.
Charlie's farm Cottage has all you need for a great place to stay with family and friends to enjoy and explore the West Coast.

Charlie's Farm Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful location. There is good river access with great jumping/sliding/swimming spot at the beginning of the road, about 1km away. The Cottage was roomy for our family of four, well-designed and equipped. A good launching spot for exploring the Coast.

We loved staying at Charlie’s farm cottage. It was well equipped and beautifully maintained. It was lovely being right in the country, peaceful beautiful and we had gorgeous weather. The children spent a lot of time down in the river, playing pole tennis and climbing the tree. Although it is quite a drive to get to other west coast attractions it was worth it to be so comfortable and peaceful. Many thanks and we throughly recommend to others. Ps we left our frozen peas in the freezer in the hopes next family could use them.

Plenty of space. Warm and cosy. We really enjoyed our stay. Gold panning was a fun family activity. The welcome chocolates were a nice touch. Definitely recommend this for a get away.

We spent a beautiful week in Charlie‘s cottage, our kids were so happy with all the toys, we discovered local history with the nice books, enjoyed the dvds on rainy days and the panorama from the living. Kitchen is well equipped. With a bit of driving we could visit the area and do some beautiful hikes, goldpanning, visit Hokitika and even Franz-Josef-Glacier. Would definitely come again and recommend to other families or groups!

We absolutely loved the spot. A brilliant house, very cosy and equipped with everything you would have at home including gold washing pans and picknick blankets. We were lucky to meet our host who was a lovely and good hearted person. The views were stunning, especially in the evenings when the sun set. There is a cool waterhole nearby with swing and slide which is excellent for a hot day. We can recommend this place to families and groups of 8, because it is a spacious place. If we can we will be definitively be back. A home away from home.
