All was perfect for a wonderfully relaxing week on the Lake. The cottage is clean, well equipped and the owner and parents living next door couldn't have been kinder. If given the opportunity, we would certainly love to stay here once again.

Cottage Stay

Can’t say enough about how nice this little cottage is! It was so clean and welcoming. It has everything you could possibly need included. Everything is extremely well stocked. It’s right on the lake. Nice porch to sit on and watch the activities on the lake. Unfortunately we were there during the current heatwave and really didn’t spend the time outside that we would have liked to. That being said we certainly enjoyed being there. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

Wonderful Getaway

We had a perfect little getaway from Wednesday through Saturday. The place was clean and well-stocked with all the little necessities that make a stay comfortable. The dock was great. We really enjoyed the fishing, though unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate for kayaking. Hated to leave, but we’re already looking forward to future visits

Great view of lake, great updated kitchen and appliances. Dock was good but had no electric for trolling batteries. Did not bring long enough extension cords and ran out of battery on day 2. All else was great!

We could sit and stare at the lake from most of the house! And that's what we did when we were there. Good location for us to view family history in Jamestown and go to programs at Chautauqua.

AUSGEZEICHNET! A Wonderful Vacation!

Our stay at Chautauqua Lake was somewhat different this year. Our family had included a stay of several weeks at the lake nearly every summer since 1929 (!). Thus, when our long time landlord decided to sell his property in Shore Acres after the 2022 season, we were forced to look for another cottage, for the first time in twenty three years! Our choice was a superb lakefront cottage in the Loomis Bay area of Ashville. My wife and I have only the highest praise for the property and for the treatment that we received as first time renters! The cottage itself was completely equipped and spotlessly clean, an absolute joy to use for the month of our vacation. The parents of the owner of our cottage owned the property next door and were only a few steps away, should we require help or discover any issues. There were none! Our only suggestions related to our particular interests and involved our desire to launch our fleet (!) of small boats. We did use the ramp on the property for our sunfish, but found it to be in need of work for anything slightly heavier (11' runabout, Laser/Force 5 sailboat) Removing the larger rocks and/or controlling the dangerously slippery entrance should work. I certainly understand that might not be something that the owners would find worth the effort, but it might be a major concern for long term small boat renters ? My only other suggestion-and this would be easy!- would be to fix a ladder to the dock in order to make access to the water easier.

Clean, Classic, and Comfy

Great lakeside stay, and a classic cabin. My wife felt so at home, very much like her beloved family's lake side cottage. Peaceful and beautiful, and convenient to Jamestown, the Chautauqua Institute, and everything else the area has to offer. We hated to leave! Chris was terrific and a great communicator. We can't wait to go back, next time we'll hopefully be able to stay a lot longer.

Great 4th of July!

This Chautauqua lake cottage was perfect. The cottage was clean and spacious. We loved the cover porch with ceiling fan, major plus for us. The cottage was easy to find and in the perfect location. The neighbors were also super friendly and the host was always quick to respond to our questions. Would definitely rent here again! Thank you. 😊

This property was exactly what we were looking for. It had its own boat dock which was important to us. The property manager was quick with responses. This was cozy, and very clean. The view was great. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. We enjoyed our stay!!!!

Beautiful Chautauqua Cottage

This homey cottage with a lovely view of the lake made for a perfect getaway. A quiet neighborhood, conveniently located close to Jamestown. My wife's first stay at Chautauqua and she loved it! I spent every day on the deck or dock having my coffee as the sun came up. We will be back!

Quaint lake side cottage

We reserved this nice lake side cottage for a weekend of fishing. Everything in was in great shape, furniture and beds were very comfy. Kitchen very modern and user friendly. Great for a few guys or small family to enjoy Lake Chautaqua.
