Hôtel très bien situé, personnel très aimable, très belle chambre rénovée

This hotel needs updates and is not 5-star. The only bedside lamp was flickering, eventually not turning on. I tried using the tiny reading light, which easily fell out of the wall when I tried to point it to my book. The bedside lamp was looked into, but it was kindly suggested to me that it was user error. The AC apparently turns off if you open the patio door and stays off. I just assumed it didn’t work. The hotel did reset it once I mentioned it. The shower wasn’t draining or the glass door didn’t seal. I was not even 5 minutes into my shower when I realized the water was pooling. I scrambled to rinse my hair and opened the shower door after it drained. It was too late. The water had seeped out during the shower past the bathroom door and essentially created a thin layer of water ALL over the room. I had been packing my bags that morning, so I had to dash in the slippery water to sop up water, hoist heavy bags, and salvage my items. There was mildew in the shower, a spot of mold outside of it and the baseboards showed some damage, so not a first time thing there. They did offer to change rooms, which I didn’t do since it was my last day, but I was surprised they didn’t even offer me a brunch or 100 euros off to apologize for the stress. I raised this the next morning awaiting a car for the airport. It’s one thing to try and resolve an issue, another to apologize with a small gesture. They did offer brunch once I raised it, but I was leaving for the airport.
