'This affordable hotel is about 20 mins drive from downtown Charleston. Staff is helpful and nice. We booked for 5 persons, but we had to make the sofabed ourselves. Also there were only towels provided for 4. When we asked, it was no problem and got them. Breakfast is good, but the line for waffles was long and is at the start of the buffet. Maybe move the waffle station to the end and get an extra waffle iron would help a lot. '

'Everything was just wonderful '

'Close to everything and plenty of perks with free snacks in room and lounge. Rooftop terrace has amazing views and a great spot to relax. The free drinks and appetizers from 4-5 is also a great perk. The day we were there we were so busy touring the town we missed lunch, the free bacon wrapped chicken bites hit the spot. Additionally the free breakfast was fantastic, far above what you’ll get at a normal continental breakfast. First day we were there it was eggs Benedict. '

'We loved the pool and the location. The house was beautiful and our room was too. However, the listing on Expedia says there is “free” offsite parking 0.3 miles away. When we arrived the spots on the property were full so I took the parking suggestion sent in my guidebook and headed to the 34 St Phillips Street Parking Garage. 'The Iris was exactly what I needed, except maybe the car carousel. Technically, my vehicle fits on the SUV carousel, but not really. That was frustrating, especially since I slightly damaged my door. User error. The location of The Iris is perfect. Just off the highway and a few blocks from the famous King Street. 'The Spectator was everything I imagined and MORE! The amenities (refillable snacks, butler service, bikes) made my experience feel so special and comfortable. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced! It was my 3rd summer in Charleston, and out of all the places I've stayed at, this one BY FAR takes the cake!!!'
