Marrowstone Island: Skivakanties

Overpriced, terrible service, and absolutely ZERO accountability! We paid over $750 for two nights at The State Hotel, and what a complete disappointment! I genuinely cannot believe this place markets itself as an upscale boutique hotel. Our first night, we were kicked out of the hotel restaurant and bar for a private event, and the host was unbelievably rude about it. Apparently, paying hotel guests aren’t much of a priority! No weekend room service either, and the staff overall acted like hospitality was the last thing on their minds. But the real kicker? On our final night, a man behaving erratically and appearing heavily under the influence came running through the lobby stealing alcohol from the bar. He approached us while hotel employees stood there and did NOTHING. Not one person bothered to check on us afterward. Absolutely ridiculous! And when Expedia contacted the hotel about our experience? They refused to offer ANY compensation because we completed our stay. What exactly were we supposed to do when the worst incident happened on our LAST NIGHT?! For $750, I expected a nice hotel, decent customer service, and some basic concern for guest safety. Apparently, that was asking too much. Overpriced, unwelcoming, and completely unwilling to take responsibility when things go wrong. Save yourself the money and frustration. There are plenty of other hotels in Seattle that deserve your business more than this one!

The corner suite was gorgeous and had a beautiful view of the city and water. I especially enjoyed the rainfall shower. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were all professional and courteous. The spa area was a bit disappointing—I was hoping to schedule a restorative treatment, but after visiting the spa floor, I decided to pass. The atmosphere wasn’t inviting, and the steam room was completely unusable—it smelled like mildew and old socks. I did inform the staff, so hopefully it will be sanitized and resolved for future guests. Everything else was lovely.

Kamer was zeer goed. Alleen de ramen en de raam van de badkamerdeur waren vies. Vol met vuile afdrukken van (kinder)handen. De poetsvrouw was heel onvriendelijk.
