Borneo: Luxe vakanties

After our roundtrip in Borneo, we wanted to relax for a few days, and chose this resort. Some buildings in this hotel were being renovated, but this was not disturbing for guests. The first renovation should be finished in august 2018. Our rooms were very spacious and clean; but they also need renovation. We reserved a family room, and got 2 rooms with connecting door. Especially the service, friendlyness of the staff is fantastic. They really make you feel special. There are a few restaurants which all serve different food (mediteranean, western, asian) In every restaurant there is live music. The food is great and the restaurant-staff is even more so. On our last evening, the restaurant-staff sang their farewell-song to us. There's a nice pool and nice beach, but there's nothing to see but sand on the bottom of the sea (no good for snorkling). They offer some other acticities like a spa, gym and bicycles. Beach-activities are very limited. They only offer kayaks and paddling. Go to this hotel if you want to relax on the beach or by the pool. Although there is a tour-organizer in the hotel, I would not recommend this hotel as a base-camp for excursions, because of the location (25km from Kota Kinabalu). eg. If you want to go diving to the islands (gaya, sapi, manukan); it is 1,5 hour drive (during rush-hour) to the harbour.

Het is een comfortabel hotel Hotel ligt zeer centraal, vlakbij de rivier en op loopafstand van het centrum. Wij hadden een kamer op de 16e verdieping en toegang tot de club lounge.

We had a relaxing time, the resort is very nice and the people are helpful and friendly. Personally, we think that drinking water should be available without costs.
