Sinaï: Strandvakanties

Dit hotel is zeker niet het meest luxe wat er te vinden is in Sharm el Sheikh, maar zoek je gewoon een prettig verblijf met aardig personeel dan ben je hier aan het goede adres! Het is niet zo groot en massaal als andere hotels in de omgeving. Het ligt direct aan het strand. De kamers zijn schoon en netjes, het personeel aardig en in de omgeving zijn leuke uitstapjes te doen. Wij zijn wezen snorkelen en dat is prachtig in deze omgeving!

Prima hotel om een weekje te verblijven. Ligt wel op 1,5 uur rijden van Sharm el Sjeikh en ligt erg afgelegen. Je bent dus aangewezen op de horeca faciliteiten van het hotel. We hadden logies met ontbijt geboekt. Beter is het om halfpension te boeken. Anders gaan de kosten van de maaltijden behoorlijk in de papieren lopen, zeker met een gezin. Er is een buffetrestaurant met elke avond een ander thema. Goed van kwaliteit en uitgebreid. Daarnaast is er een klein a la carte restaurant, dat ook goed is te noemen. Overdag is er bij het strand een beach paviljjoen, waar salades, broodjes, soepen en snacks worden geserveerd. Erg sfeervol. Het dichtsbijzijnde dorpje is Dahab. Daar zijn wel enkele inheemse restaurantjes te vinden, maar zeker ook niet goedkoop en perfect te noemen. Het Meridien Dahab is een prima hotel om een weekje van de zon te genieten. In maart 2012 zal de nieuwe fitness ruimte met grote spa geopend worden. Dat wordt ook tijd, want nu is er niets van dit alles. Vriendelijk personeel met persoonlijke aandacht.

It was a great experience. It was my first time alone as a woman to Egypte. To be honest I didnt feel lonley in 6 days. The employees kept me entertained. The waiters and cooks were great. The room cleaner Mohammad was so kind and respectfull. THANKS TO ALL MOHAMMED'S and MAHMOED'S and HAMDY the cook. They were are so friendly and kind to me. DONT FEEL LIKE GOING HOME NOW. The only thing was the status of the rooms. The beds need some renovations. What I found pity was the gym and soa. I was quite disappointed that the gym was under construction and i was not informed before booking. Further, spa is not included. You can use it only if you pay for treatment. Even treatments are very limited. On the website they didn't mention that they have no indoor pool.

Nice hotel with lovely pools and beach area. Some parts were closed however due to lack of hotel guests making it quite quiet overall. This was not always compensated by the activity team, some of them were walking around very bored looking and not making any effort to entertain the guests. They also decided themselves when activities would be played instead of making a calendar for it so that guests can make themselves available for games. This could be improved! As we would have loved to engage with more activities. We do want to thank Artem though - he did make an effort as an activity person to get people involved and host many sessions and was flexible too. The hotel food was great, we didn’t get bored of the buffet restaurants! We notice a difference between the beach and club park restaurants though and definitely recommend spending more time in the beach resort side. Nicer staff and overall better food quality and options. Thanks Amr for always being our waiter with such kindness! The drinks options were OK - some bars made better drinks than others and not always were the bar tenders good enough in English to understand what you wanted. We were left with some not so nice cocktails from time to time which we didn’t end up drinking. Other times we were pleasantly surprised by the quality flexibility in the bartenders to come up with something different. Special thanks to Mohamed and Fatih at the beach bar - they were really friendly and capable bartenders!

the staff was good, food was nice and various ,it was clean. WiFi was good , too bad no WiFi in the room . this hotel to remember for next time.
