'I was booked the hotel for my friend, he told me his stay at AlZara hotel was fine, pretty basic 3 star hotel. Very disappointing that they did NOT serve breakfast, you have to order via online food delivery. The staff are friendly enough, even though they staring at you sometimes, because obviously not many western stay in the hotel. '

'The view is absolutely incredible and the pool is nice. However, unfortunately we had a bad experience. The property does not seem to have wifi and the restaurant does not appear to be operational. We were unable to get a Gojek, so you'll need transport. Communication with staff was challenging. The pathway to the beach (not a private beach) and village was also challenging. The room - especially the bathroom - could have done with a clean. '

'Beautiful and interesting home with different areas and a little courtyard inside. Carvings and tiles. They had an old radio, record player etc. wonderful if you want to see an old Kotagede type house from the inside. There's a bookshop attached to the house and it has a good selection of books, including Indonesian books translates into English, a section on Javanese culture, and political books like Gramsci etc. Location is good near lots of nice restaurants, walkable to the Mataram makams,...
