Couldn't find the property initially. The map link supplied by the property manager took us to the wrong location. Wife checked another travel marketplace and found the location in a different street - Walker Street. Still no sign of named property at the end. By chance we bumped into the owner of the building that the apartment was in - Jameson House, who was able to direct us. We would never have found it otherwise as Scoresby Place is not signed anywhere. The allocated parking place is VERY tight to get in and out of, especially with an estate car and a banksman was needed. The property is Georgian with nice high ceilings, big shuttered windows and some other period features. Living room and bedrooms are bright and airy. Although prepared to a certain standard there were marks and stains on walls and doors and the rug in the living room was badly stained. The bathroom door didn't have a lock and wouldn't stay closed, it kept popping open. The shower had good water pressure though. The inside front door handle is hanging on by a single screw although a newer twist lock has been installed above it. The trim under the kitchen units kept falling down every time we opened the dishwasher door. The bed in the smaller front bedroom was creaky to the point of being unusable. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Whitby but feel that the property needs a bit of attention to merit a better score.
