Paige is a nice and responsive host. Unfortunately, the property itself did not meet basic expectations.The house is packed with old furniture, the owner's stuff and bric-a-brac; it is cluttered. Worse: the house is not clean. The fact that 6 other reviews lauded its cleanliness makes me think they are fake. A cleaning crew attends to kitchen surfaces, sheets and bathrooms and not much else. Most concerning was the dirt in the utensil drawer and numerous cobwebs.The lighting is very problematic. Every room has multiple old lamps that are not bright enough to provide any light. The wiring is spotty, the lampshades are constantly cockeyed despite efforts to straighten them. The dark wood and lack of natural or artificial lighting give the house a depressing atmosphere. There were also significant privacy concerns: the walls are extremely thin, you can literally hear the person in the next room breathing. The unfinished wood doors cause splinters and there are actual holes in most of the doors upstairs, making privacy impossible. Additional discomforts are that there are no drawers in the bedroom to put folded items. The often cracked and chipped dishes are kept in a cabinet below the island that requires a lot of bending. All of the furniture in the house (except 2), including the glassware and dishes, is a mishmash of items from tag sales. Overall, while the host was great, the condition and setup of the house really need attention to provide a better guest experience.
