The house was great. The amenities were excellent although the island pool was closed for maintenance while we were there. Thankfully there is a 2nd pool on the ocean side that was open. We used the mini golf, shuffleboard, sand pit area for small children and hot tubs. My suggestion to the owner/manager is to improve communications. I’ve stayed at many rental homes for vacation. Most will provide a booklet with house rules, amenities information, check out procedures, WiFi info etc. Info about where to find things in the house. It could make it easier. Instead I had to reach out for information. I also couldn’t get a response to a question on the day I was checking in. I understand it was Easter Sunday so I was not expecting an immediate response but I received no response over the course of the entire day. Other than that, it was perfect and we enjoyed our stay!

The Modern Beach House was just a perfect place to stay, very well laid out and well equipped!! Giovanni was the very best, super attentive, quick to respond, and made sure that our stay was an absolutely great experience!! I really appreciated him being so nice about everything, just a great guy!!

All I can mentioned is totally positive on this property, good location, owner was always available. Interior very nice, decoration, spacious, we were 3 adults and our two kids. We usually go to this place multiple times during the summer, I only have one recommendation, Owner's Golf Cart needs an upgrade on batteries. I rated it 99.9%.

Absolutely perfect!

It was our second time staying on Nettles island and then island was as great as last time. Our first time at this property and it was absolutely perfect!! It’s beautifully furnished, perfectly laid out. It was just my husband and myself but could comfortable accommodate additionally guests. For just the 2 of us we were in heaven. Everything was exceptionally clean, new kitchen appliances, nice big tv in master room. The golf cart was a fun extra. The size of the master, the master bath and living room/kitchen area were all superb. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back!

Amazing family vacation!

This property was exactly as pictured. Our family of 4 was very comfortable. The mattress in the master bedroom was great! We had an amazing vacation. The golf cart is a huge plus. We loved the area and amenities. So much to do for adults and kids! We will definitely be back.

The unit is exactly as described. It is very clean and has everything you need. The golf cart was a real plus. Whenever I had a question the owner was quick to reply. I have stayed in several units on Nettles and this is one of my favorites. It's got a great vibe! I hope it's available next time I am visiting the Stuart area.

Good Fit For Our Family of Five

Our family loves Nettles Island and the surrounding area. The house fit our needs well for our most recent trip there. We had a couple small hiccups when we first got there but the owner was very responsive and helpful so it wasn’t really an issue. I would definitely consider staying there again on our next vacation to Nettles.

Owner Cancelled Our Week 5 Minutes After We Were to Check In

We stayed on Nettle's Island for the first time in April 2022. We loved everything the community had to offer, so I immediately booked for the following Spring Break of 2023. After booking the place with Gustavo/Gio Mejia, I messaged them through the VRBO app on April 10, 2022 with confirmation of our stay for April 2023. I received an immediate reply. On March 29, 2023, I messaged the brothers Gustavo/Gio again to confirm our upcoming stay and inquired about how to receive access into their home. I received another immediate response from them, explaining that I would receive access the day prior to the trip. By 12:30 p.m. on March 29, 2023, I received the "keys" via email. My family of 4 flew into Florida, got our car rental, and drove to meet up with two other family members. When we were not able to access our "keys" at 4:05 p.m. on April 1, 2023 (5 minutes after check-in), I sent a message through the VRBO app. I received a phone call from Gio within 5 minutes. Apparently, they had double booked the house and never noticed, despite my messages after booking and 3 days before check-in!!! I received a refund within the hour. However, our two families were left without a place to stay!!! Gio sounded very apologetic on the phone the day he cancelled our stay. Since then, I have texted with him on April 4th, 5th, 10th, 14th, 15th, and 30th, hoping that he would make this situation "right" for a future stay. To this day, nothing has been done.

Wonderful Place

We had a great time in this cottage. Very nice open space. It is nicely decorated with everything you need for a beach getaway. We loved being on the main road so close to the beach with nice breeze to have your cup of coffee outside each morning.The owner was very attentive and so easy to communicate with. Will definitely be back.

Cockroaches and filth

Upon arrival I noticed black smeared handprints all over the kitchen cabinets and walls and doorways. Disgusting. I spent much of my first day scrubbing and cleaning. To top that there were cockroaches in the kitchen and bathrooms which was horrifying. I read all the reviews except for the one from the week before my stay which was loaded with cockroach issues. I was paranoid the whole time and we had to eat every meal out. Very disappointed and can’t believe someone will take our money knowing their property is infested. Very irresponsible property owner. The place was shabby with sticker back splash peeling off in bathrooms and kitchen. The golf cart was crap and the lights didn’t work so it could only be used in the day time. The picnic table was decrepit also. Beach chairs were broken down crap too. Only gave three passes to the pool so I had to buy extras for $25.00 each. If the place sleeps six, there should be passes for all. Nice community and we will go there again but never to this rental. I was embarrassed to have my kids come.

As soon as we arrived we had roaches and a plumbing issue in the kitchen sink. I addressed the owner right away. We got 24 roach baits and put them all around also sprayed. Roaches continued . Anytime we tried to use the garbage disposal it blew up and wouldn’t drain. Used 2 bottles of Drano and never used the garbage disposal again. The outlet in the master bathroom didn’t work nor did the one outside ,which was the one to charge the golf cart. Owner said push red button on bathroom outlet. It didn’t work so we used the neighbors outlet to charge golf cart. I did tell the owner. He claimed he didn’t have my cell number yet could communicate thru messenger on VRBO. The golf cart lights didn’t work and the mirror was broken also. We also only had 3 passes and we were to have 4 ,so we purchased one. The owner did offer to refund that cost plus Drano and roach bait. It’s not the $30. It’s that they weren’t taken care of. I told him to get it bombed for roaches before the next poor person had to deal with them. The area is great and hope next year to return to another place there. Neighbors are very nice and don’t have roach issues. .

Week at Nettles Island

The property was lovely, lots of amenities you wouldn't expect including toiletries and lotions. The golf cart to get around was a nice addition. It was very comfortable, well decorated. The property as a community had everything from pool to restaurants to little grocery store. The property host was great, answered any and all questions very quickly. I would definitely stay there again!!!!

Great place for a family with small kids

This place is great....great house in a great location! The house is adorable and the community is wonderful. This rental is perfect for a family with small children as the second bedroom is really too small for adults. The house had great amenities but could use a little upgrading as there was limited linens/towels and no hairdryer. The golf cart could use and update as well as the lights very intermittent and the horn didnt work. Other than that, we had a great stay.

Fabulous vacation

The property manager was responsive, the unit was clean and in a great location. Bed was comfortable and 2 bathrooms was a plus! Loved the location- Hutchinson Islamd has always been a favorite - if you like beautiful beaches, no crowds and are able to drive to commercial areas like Stuart and Downtown Jensen this place is for you.
