We liked, but didn't love our stay at Kittys Cottage. The house itself was clean and neat, the backyard needed some work. Postives: it is a very big place upstairs, and the 2 bedrooms were private and very nice. The table out back we ate most meals at. It was a very short walk to the beach and the parks. Super close to restaurants and a convenice store. There was also A TON of books, almost like a library. Negatives: the backyard looks nothing like the pictures on the site. Most of the chairs in the pictures no longer exist, and the yard needs some TLC. Leaves etc all over the place. The pool heat broke the 1st day, but they got it back up and running withing 36 hours. Some sort of a mix up, a realtor was showing the house the 2nd day of our rental. The prospective buyers acutally showed up before the realtor. I had no problem with it, (because i was there.) but had it had only been my wife and daughter there would have been a problem.

Loved, loved, loved the house. We had an amazing time. Our 10 year anniversary was so special and relaxing it’s everything we wanted.
The pool was our favorite part.
It was great, even at the end of November we could swim because the pool was heated.
Dinner was great. I absolutely loved the frying pan I used. I know that’s weird to say, but it’s the little things that make life so great in my opinion. Everything worked. We were going to grill out, but the grill was out of propane.
The house was so cute. Plenty of space. Well organized and clean. We adored the house. Also, there is plenty of places to sleep. It was just my husband and I but we have four kids they could have easily come and had plenty of places to sleep.

All the outside landscape around pool was to much over took walk area pool stayed dirty because of the leaves. No internet for 2 days. Shower upstairs had a bad crack. The area was loud all night but good location to get to everything. We enjoyed our stay but doubt we stay here again.

A nice home, comfortable beds, AC worked well. Loved the patio and furniture. Small kitchen. Some issues with palmetto bugs that were handled by me. Needs a little TLC with the backyard plants, but still enjoyable!

The house is absolutely amazing!! Love the layout and all the "nooks" are so cozy. However, the picture of the pool area is very deceiving. Bushes are very overgrown and it is not as spacious as it looks. But overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back!

Property is nice but is not as shows in pictures, the host should update them so travelers can have an exact idea of what are they gonna find .Place wasn't ready and clean for our stay, the host texted me a few days before the trip telling me the principal bathroom was down but she nicely said "but don't worry you can still used she second bathroom which has a 3 by 3 square shower, my husband is a big athletic man so he didn't fit on it, even my self can't have a nice bath on that little square, my wholw family ended showering on the outside pool shower and then run inside to get dressed which never should happen and I ended bathing my baby on the kitchen sink, so definitely not a family friendly Property.Checking progress is super easy. The house is located prety much like 10 minutes walking to the beach, and the spot is amazing to enjoy a beautiful sunrise.Property is located just a few steps away from a sea restaurant and on Friday they have life music which sounds just like you having a party in the pool, so if you have kids that go to bed at 8/9pm definitely is a big issue... house wasn't clean inside, when we turned on the ceiling fans a black thing blows up the bed and we have to cleaned... there is this big huge pillows in the floor, one has a hole and the inside was getting out pretty easy, I ended saving them under a bed so we don't have to deal with that the whole week.Outside :/ dust everywhere, pool was dirty, nothing looks pic

Charming & Spacious

POSITIVES: Overall it was a cute place with plenty of room and seating. Easy walk to beach and some local stores. Outside area was perfect! Great location - easy walk to beach. NEGATIVES: Was told the day before we checked in that maintenance "just reported" upstairs shower was broke and would not be able to be used. Looking back on the reviews - this was not the case as people as far back as April reported the shower was not usable upstairs. After two months you would think they would fix it!?!? Definitely not the cleanest place though - floors need to be cleaned/mopped in between tenants! Be sure to always wear shoes or your feet will turn black. If they would spend a little bit of money on the bathrooms and kitchen this place would be a gem!

Quaint little place

This property was pretty perfect for my family of seven it is very cute and close to the beach there's a salt fish and beer bar right beside so if you don't like cars coming in and out a lot it might bother you it did not bother us however because I have two small children I will say there is not porch furniture upstairs like as shown in the pictures other than two little chairs one of the swinging chairs is missing an the other one is pretty rough looking the upstairs shower was out of order which was hard for my 70-year-old mother and even though it was chilly we took showers outside the pool was not heated like stated in the ad apparently the pool is only heated until April 1st which kind of crazy to me it was too cold most of the time to swim in an unheated pool luckily the first two days we were there it was still heated and we were able to swim once the heat was turned off we were not able to swim it is way too cold in April to not have a heated pool if you're going to offer one.we were told that the shower would not be fixed during our stay which is kind of a bummer and didn't even get offered a discount and I booked an extra night. other than those things, if the upgrades were made to the place I would definitely book again because it is very cute having the private pool is a big deal and being able to swim in it isn't even bigger deal the kitchen is very small and we had to use some of the dish cabinets to store Pantry food there's no carpet a make sure

Good and bad

Pros: The location was great. A short walk to the beach, about 3mins. The bedrooms, family area upstairs, and all the children books were great and much appreciated. Cons: After parking in the carport, there was an immediate odor that hit us. The awful odor could also be smelt while swimming in the pool. We realized that there were multiple dumpsters, with some being open, on the other side of the pool fence( behind the carport) from the business next door. It smelled like a dead animal. It was awful. We tried to stay on the other side of the pool to avoid the smell but it is a small pool. Also, the running water from inside the house also smelled bad. It smelled like the running water came directly from the ocean. Just a very strong fishy smelly from the water. Even my 4 yr old noticed it. I agree with outher reviewers that the hiuse definitely needs some love: the shower upstairs had a huge rip in the floor and water was openly flowing into the hole. All the furniture outside by the pool were musky and gross. I dont think they've been cleaned in years. We avoided them.Lastly, the pool. The pool had a little algae in it the first day but didnt think anything of it since i assumed there was enough chlorine to keep it at bay. However, by our 3rd day it had taken over most of the pool and I did not feel comfortable allowing kids to swim in it. Side note: The shower downstairs by the kitchen is like showing in a pit and not safe for young children.

Great vacation

We had a wonderful Vacation, this homes location was in a great neighborhood and easy access to all attractions. My children loved being able to walk to the ice cream shop!! The down side to the property is that it came with a pool that we were able to use for two days but after that the water was green and could not see to the bottom at all. When we reached out to the host they did inform us they put in a work order for it to be fixed but two days went by and no one showed up to fix the pool. Also it’s advertised as being heated pool but it’s only heated for certain time of the year. When we took our trip the heat had been turned off for the season. With it being early April we did reach out to them about having the heat turned back on and we were informed it would cost 40 a day. We were fine with this but the pool was never cleaned so we could fully enjoy it. That was a little disappointing to our children as being at the beach is not always easy with a three year old and he really wanted to get in the pool. Also there was no broom to sweep the floor wired! Other than that the house had most everything we needed and we enjoyed our time on the island!

So fun!

We had a great time in this house! Overall it was pretty clean and well-kept. My only complaint was there was a mouse and also some stains on our bed sheets. It was nice to be so close to the beach. I love all the different spots in and outside the house where we could just sit and hang out. I would stay here again! If you plan to stay here I just recommend keeping your food locked away because our little friend helped themself to our bagels.

Nice place!

We loved staying here! The pool was nice and the location is awesome and within walking distance of the beach and a few shops and restaurants. My teen and the toddlers had a great time along with us adults. The only negative things I have to say is- it’s not really 3 bedroom per se, unless you count the living room area. The kitchen is very small- not a lot of counter space, and you can only use one water thing at a time (shower-washer..etc) bc water pressure disappears. Other than those things we loved this place!

Not as advertised

Sad property! First, we get there and at 4pm the door would not unlock. I called and I spoke to an Indian who could barely speak English. Instead of giving me my door code she wanted proof that I paid which meant I would have to drop bags, pull up my checking, look back months on my CC statement to prove I paid. I am very angry that I could not understand what she was saying and was frustrated enough to have to look thru my statement for proof. I would not have driven 5 hrs for nothing! The rental company sent me the code after our check in time which left us sitting outside frustrated because they knew we were coming. Second, my Sister’s both stepped on glass in the kitchen which meant who ever cleans did not clean the floor correctly. I let management know and all I got was a I’m sorry??? For three days, I complained about the TV not working outside so we could watch games and all I got was someone would look into it, never happened. The pool was dirty. Pool guy came and dumped white powder in and left. Didn’t clean it at all. The outside shower which is covered was terribly dirty. I complained, no answer! Kitch is extremely tiny and the pan we cooked eggs in needs trashed. Lots of mold and mildew in the home. Would not stay again and would never use this Tybee property management again. So disappointed!

Loved it!

We loved our stay here! It was perfect for our family of 4. The pool was amazing and all the outdoor spaces made for fun family time outside. The beds and couches were very comfy and it was so close to the beach. Right next door to restaurants and shops! The area felt safe and quiet. Would love to visit again next summer.

Loved that the TVs were in family areas so it kept the teens and adults in the same room. There was also a sweet little alcove under the stairway that was great for kids. The entry to the home had a sitting room with lots of books which the teens enjoyed. The good the bad and the ugly

We arrived two hours early, stopped by the house and the pool was disgusting, green, dirty. The outside area is very grown up, trash and shoes, socks, dog poop. I called property management after no text response and was told maintenance would be there. She did offer to store our groceries while we waited- maintenance did not arrive. I called again at 4, was told again maintenance would be there which didn’t arrive. She also had to help us get in the door as the code did not work. The next day maintenance arrived and shocked and cleaned the pool which helped about 5%. I contacted management stating my husband and I worked on the pool and got it somewhat clean. Day 3 we left for some shopping, returned and a pool tech was there who informed us not to swim for two hours. Which would be 2pm. So for three days of our 4 days the pool was not clean. The inside of the property was clean all but some juice boxes left upstairs under a table. We did enjoy the family area as well. I would suggest having something to be a or to put food in for families, we had cereal, bread etc and no real place to put it. There is a restaurant next door and at times the dumpster gets bad but not unbearable. Raccoons visited every night which were cool to watch but probably should be relocated. We were fairly disappointed in the pool situation, that’s the whole reason we rented a house not a condo. Otherwise, the house was enjoyable.

Anniversary

Cottage was great. Lots of quirky things to see inside, which we love. Pool was pretty dirty however, and the net left to clean it out was full of holes.
