The problems with the room made it feel kind of like camping, which I don't mind, but I want to know ahead of time and prefer to pay less for. There were three things that made this less than a 5 star rating. 1.The toilet would not actually flush. When flushed, the water would go to almost the top of the bowl but without overflowing, and then very slowly (about an hour to go down) go back to the preflush level, but the toilet paper never went down. 2.The carpets were vacuumed, but still looked filthy. I wouldn't let my husband go around in just his socks. 3. The fabric chair arms were disgusting. I was afraid to touch them. I do not think the last two had anything to do with the staff, but with the leadership not providing the infrastructure needed to keep things in great shape.
Positives: Any solid surface, or linens that could be cleaned were spotless. I could tell by the employees that the property manager is great and works at hiring, training, and retaining truly customer service oriented staff. This is amazing considering what appeared to be the meager resources they have to work with. Everyone was super polite and professional. The Breakfast was fantastic. You could really tell that someone took the care and time to properly prepare the limited ingredients they were given to produce a truly lovely product. Also, the front desk wrote down what was a problem and was very courteous and professional when i let them know what the problems were.
