Birkenhof is located almost in the heart of Carinthia, nestled in the beautiful Nockberge mountains, which are ideal for hiking and skiing. The nearby Gerlitzen ski resort offers 20 lifts and numerous slopes for winter sports enthusiasts, catering to both beginners and advanced skiers. For those looking to try something different, tobogganing, winter hiking, or ski touring are all great options. In summer, numerous lakes, including the stunning Lake Ossiach, are easily accessible by car. A swimming area on the natural beach of the idyllic Lake Afritz (approx. 3 km) is included.
