The house is large and very spacious. The beds are comfy and good showers. There were no dish rags or kitchen towels, and whoever does the cleaning needs to get in the corners! There were lots of cobwebs by the doors, especially in the dining room by the doors that go out to the patio. It had an active spider eating another bug! Also, the pantry door had spider webs on both sides. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay very much.
There were four of us who stayed for two nights. If the following issues had been addressed, this could have been a good option. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
1. There was a horrible sewage/gas smell in the guest room/adjoining bathroom of main house at night. I don't know if this was from the well outside of it. This gas can be dangerous in high concentrations or over a prolonged time, so nobody wanted to sleep in that room.
2. Two of the rooms are not part of the main house. You have to leave the main house and walk across the courtyard to enter the doors/different lock of 2 bedrooms. This was advertised as a 4 bedroom house. It is really a 2 bedroom house with 2 adjacent rooms. It would not be ideal for a family with small children. We wanted all 4 bedrooms in the same home with no separate entry and this was not clear.
3. The bathroom that was for the 2 bedrooms not in the house did not have warm/hot water. That left us using the showers in the main house. Since one of the showers spelled like raw sewage gas, this was not ideal.
4. This house did say it was accessed by a dirt road, but it didn't say you had to go almost a mile on a dirt road to get to the house. We were shocked how far we had to go. Bring a car that works on a dirt road with potholes. Uber and Door Dash are out of the question and that was our plan for the weekend.
5. Two of the beds did not have a bottom sheet. There was a top sheet on top of the mattress pad. You either had to sleep on the ma
Hereâs the real deal. I booked based off the one outstanding review. I shouldâve known better. We had a group of 7 women together for Mothers Day retreat. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: plenty of beds and space! So spacious and beautiful outside nature! Plenty of cookware and appliances. Super quiet. Cons: no one cleaned this house prior to our stay. Cobwebs, dead bugs, used Qtips, etc. the list goes on. There is a cute courtyard but all the furniture had dust and bird poop on it. There is even a game room with pool table and table tennisâŠ.again dead bugs and cobwebs. Even covering the pool sticks! No additional toilet paper or paper towels anywhere. Kuerig didnât work. Some of the utensils and dishes had been put away dirty. The chandelier was hanging by a hook off the ceiling! There was one set of directions only for the projector and nothing else. Most properties have a welcome book on how to use items in the home. The beds were neatly made and clean but we were looking for bugs everywhere. We knew there would be bugs but not the amount of dead ones. The communication was off base. Evolve informed me to email the owner for any questions. Yet when I did that, I wouldnât get any response until the next day. The last one stated they werenât our contact for our stay and that we shouldâve have the on-site managers number. I will admit this is also my bad as it is in the directions of like the 5th email I received from Evolve. Needs work.
We had a great time, We came from Texas for a family wedding and needed a place with lots of space. House was perfect for my large family. Spacing and rooming locations were spot on. Courtyard was great for our family get together. Wonderful reviews all around.
