As Indian passport holders, we do realize that our passports aren't the strongest for travel. We can't pick destinations on a whim or avail last minute discounted flight deals without checking visa requirements. And moving to the United States doesn't really make a huge difference. • ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️ Before visiting Iceland, we further realized the difference between a visa issuing consulate and a honorary consulate that doesn't issue visas. That time, we traveled all the way to New York just to get our visas stamped. • 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰 This time around, with the Faroe Islands, the Danish embassy was kind enough to process our visas via postal mail because they had access to our biometric information from last year. (Faroe Islands are autonomous but a part of the kingdom of Denmark, so one can only apply for schengen visas to enter Faroe Islands via Denmark) • ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️ Is there a country with visa requirements that you've particularly enjoyed visiting? Drangarnir
A little off-track route towards an fantastic rock in the ocean surrounded by massive cliffs and a steep island behind it. The scenery is just stunning for photography or just be blown away its beauty (and the winds). Be carefull with the steep cliffs. Très beau logement confortable offrant tout le nécessaire pour passer un bon séjour. Les lieux sont bien tenus et la situation proche de l'aéroport est idéale. Une supérette située au coeur du village permet de faire ses courses. C'est pratique à sa descente d'avion. Nous recommandons.

I took this photo at Sørvágsvatn in the Faroe Islands! This isn't a view of the lake itself or the iconic cliffs. But a view of lesser known cliffs right by the lake itself. And the body of water you see is the deep sea :). And the lake was to the right of me. To see both at the same time is a very cool sight, as well. But I like this close-up view the best. Can really get a feel of how otherworldly it is! As the classic views of the lake. I hiked about 4 KM to get to Sørvágsvatn and it was definitely worth it! Some other tourists as well, but not nearly as many as the peak of summer. I'm glad I went on that late August day! One of my favorite memories of 2018.

Miðvágur

A distant view of Drangarnir, one of the most interesting natural landmarks in the Faroe Islands! Drangarnir is the sea stacks in the middle. I took this photo in/near the village of Bøur. Shortly after I visited another iconic landmark: Múlafossur Waterfall! I wish I had time to get a close-up view of Drangarnir, though. It is truly otherworldly! I took this photo on August 29th.
