The Dutch coast attracts visitors from both home and abroad. Anyone who visits Aan Noordzee will immediately understand why. The Het Zwanenwater nature reserve is right nearby, and the picturesque village of Callantsoog is also just a stone’s throw away. It’s a great area for hiking. And cyclists will find an excellently developed network of bike paths here. You’ll rarely get bored here!
The beach at Sint Maartenszee is one of the cleanest beaches in the Netherlands. It has flown the Blue Flag for years—a guarantee of clean swimming water, a clean beach, and excellent, family-friendly facilities. A lifeguard team ensures the safety of beachgoers, and at low tide, the beach seems to stretch on forever.
In Sint Maartenszee, there is also a nude beach located about 800 meters north of the North Beach Access.
On the wide sandy beach, you’ll find two beach pavilions where you can sample local beer or order a tasty snack. You can also reserve beach loungers, chairs, and umbrellas there. “Our” beach offers everything you need to turn a long day at the beach into a relaxing experience.
In the mood for something more active? Then visit the dunes at Camperduin and Schoorl, the widest dune area in the Netherlands, where you’ll find the tallest dunes and can really let the fresh air wash over you. A network of hiking trails stretching over 60 km takes you, among other places, to the highest and most wind-swept dunes and the oldest forests in the Netherlands.
Where the sand was once stabilized by trees and plants a hundred years ago, some dunes are now free to shift again. This is the case, for example, at De Kerf, where North Sea water has free access to the dune valleys behind the dunes during spring tides and northwest storms. The results are impressive! Thanks to the salty seawater, plants such as glasswort, European sea mustard, and sea arrowgrass have been able to reestablish themselves. These plants have led to the return of certain bird species and the sand lizard. In this way, the North Holland dunes have regained a magnificent natural area.
Our conscious decision to remain a small family business also brings many benefits to our guests: a warm welcome, personalized attention, and, above all, a remarkable vacation resort.
