Set on a courtyard and each enjoying its own terrace and lawned garden, the cottages are located in Plealey, a peaceful and pretty village of half timbered houses. Lying just 6 miles from the interesting shops, inns, restaurants and cultural life found in the handsome medieval town of Shrewsbury. Fishing 0.5 miles away and excellent golf course at Arscott 0.5 miles.



    The beautiful Shropshire landscape promises delight for bird watchers and walkers alike – Offa’s Dyke long distance footpath is easily accessible, with many circular walks taking in hill forts and castles on the way, whilst buzzards and skylarks soar above. Caer Caradoc and the Devils Chair on the Stiperstones possess a wild beauty and the conservation area of Long Mynd offers a wonderful day out. Spanning the River Severn, Ironbridge and its fascinating museums are among a wealth of attractions discovered within a short drive, as is Ludlow, a famous paradise for ‘foodies’, with its superb annual festival, racecourse, impressive castle, fine shops and delightful old inns. Wonderful Christmas

We had a truly lovely time, staying over Christmas. Plealey itself doesn't have a huge amount to offer - except peace and quiet, and a lack of distractions (which might be seen as a good thing). The location is a good stepping stone for Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Ironbridge, which are all fantastic. There are also some great National Trust properties not far away. As for the property, it is great... spacious, comfortable, well equipped... We stayed as two families with two kids each and one grandparent. We had plenty of space, with privacy when we wanted it and adequate communal space when we wanted to be together. It's a really pleasantly renovated space, full of character.

We had a great weekend with all the family at The Olde Granary. What a lovely property it is - well-equipped, very comfortable and clean - and the shared games room is a fantastic addition. We explored a little of the area - scrambling on the Stiperstones and orienteering in the Cardingmill Valley - and had a very good meal at a local pub. We really wished we could have stayed longer!

Loved the cottage.

Loved the cottage. Spacious and light. Went well equipped having experienced too many cottages that lack baking trays, and big enough saucepans. I needn’t have bothered, the kitchen was well equipped. The games room provided something for everyone, all 4 generations. ,

Lovely welcoming touches i.e. Milk biscuits etc...Quite remote , other than games room (entertained the children ) there is little to do without using the car. Outside space should be separated from adjoining barns giving privacy.Single beds not comfortable.
