'This property was likely very beautiful many years ago when it first opened and the highlight photos were taken but it has clearly been neglected for some time. Neither the rooms nor the property were as clean and sufficiently stocked with necessities as I would expect. The beds were not comfortable, WiFi was spotty, and linens seemed old and lacking freshness.
The only upsides were the ac worked well and the few staff members we encountered tried to be helpful.

'me and my wife spent 10 days in februari 2013 at plaza real resort without any real problems or complains. nice pool with good food and service, friendly staff everywhere, good security, beautifull beach with entrance across the street, ac in bedroom, free wifi with reasonable speed in the room, supermarket and italian baker around the corner, exeptional value for the money, juan dolio for the rest is quiet and a real touristic spot without a nightlife.'

'The communication with the host was extremely difficult throughout our stay. It was also very hard to locate the property, and the instructions provided were not clear enough to find the place easily.
Another major issue was the language barrier. The host did not speak Spanish or English, which made communication especially challenging in a country where Spanish is the dominant language and English is more commonly spoken than the language the host used. This made it difficult to ask for...

'I love this place, due to proximity to key places such as grocery store and the beach. The area is pretty secure and is very close to the main highway and 7 minutes away from the Airport (Aeropuerto Las Americas-AILA). The ocean view that my room had was breathtaking and the staff was well trained and very curteous! I will 100 % stay here again and will recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the DR.'
