The Pecos River Cliff House – It’s Magical!

Welcome to the Pecos River Cliff House – a magical place where luxury meets wilderness. Located just 30 minutes from Santa Fe at the edge of the Santa Fe National Forest, this breathtaking cliff house towers 50 feet above the majestic Pecos River. Make yourself at home in the custom adobe house, where back bay windows provide a stunning view of the great beyond.


Embrace comfort and relaxation at every turn with upscale amenities that include hypoallergenic linens, top-of-the-line mattresses, and a stocked Keurig coffeemaker. The bathroom is equipped with an over-sized jacuzzi tub and a Mr. Steamer shower system so that you can clean off desert dust and unwind after a long day of adventure.


Whether you’re looking to unplug and explore or settle in for the night, there are infinite activities and entertainment options you can enjoy. Inside the air-conditioned house, we offer lightning-fast wifi and cellphone service, a Chromebook, a Bluetooth speaker system, and a ROKU Smart TV.



Walk down the 50-foot staircase and step into the cold water at the Pecos River’s edge. The exclusive resort is yours to explore with year-round trout fishing in the river, beginner rock climbing, a large meadow for picnicking and campfires, and 250 feet of private river access. Seasonally, a 40-foot waterfall complements the landscape neatly, itself complemented by a 50-foot cliff, like something out of a painting. The wildlife at Cliff House is abundant too, adding a touch of vibrancy to an already-vibrant property. If for some reason you find yourself wanting more, there are 1.5 million acres of pristine National Forest land just across the river. Let your wild side out, cruising around in the on-site Monster Jeep Wrangler, which is available for rent.

It was amazing. Had everything you can think of. Had rods, life jacks, kayaks, jeep rental for off road if needed at a really great affordable price. Everything labeled that made everything so easy to get. Steam room, jetted tub, steam was amazing. Radiated floors. All alone, grill, amazing view, caught some trouts to take home. Host was quick and gave really great advice. There was so many things to do that 2 days there is not enough. Didn't get to do everything we wanted to do because the amenities never ended. Great guide book that shows you everything you can do in the area and advise given. It was amazing. I do want to stay there again. Well recommended. Can't say enough of this wonderful place.

Beautiful home! We enjoyed the river and the views from the house. The host is very nice and allowed us to use the kayaks and canoe. My daughter and her friend had so much fun paddling up river. Will definitely book a stay here again.

Amazing views

What an incredible four-night getaway for my family and friends! The property is pristine and thoughtfully designed, offering ample space and storage. Everything you might need for a comfortable stay is readily available. If you intend to grill on multiple occasions, be sure to bring extra bags of charcoal. One small note: they are no longer renting out the off-road jeep, which was a bit disappointing, but it didn’t detract from our overall experience. The location is also convenient for numerous day trips. We can't wait to return!

We have stayed at this property numerous times. Each time we're blown away by the scenery. It is the most beautiful, serene place you could ever imagine. Always clean and full of extras (fishing rods, safety equipment, canoes).

Perfect getaway!

This property is one of the nicer VRBO we have stayed at. Quiet and private setting, and absolutely gorgeous property. We brought our dogs to play by the river while fishing for trout. Santa Fe isn't far away, so great shopping nearby. We will be back!

Perfectly peaceful and precisely perfect

This vacation home is incredible and the owners should give a master class on what it takes to be the perfect venue and host. Every single need and want has been thought about and addressed in the most succinct way possible. From the website to the guest guide book to the labels and notes we never wondered where anything was or what the expectation was. It is an incredibly peaceful property with the home sitting above the river. The sound of the water immediately de-frazzles you and the numerous water activities insures endless opportunities for fun. We fished and looked for rocks and the kids climbed around the rocks. If it had been warmer we would have canoed the river or floated down the river in the inner tubes. Absolutely everything is provided including fishing gear and tackle. The home is elegant and modern without ever feeling stuffy or uncomfortable. This home is the perfect example of the goal of every item having it's designated place. I actually took some notes on how I can better organize my home. The steam room and Jacuzzi bathtub were just the additional water therapy we needed. One of our travelers has had some health issues and is unsteady on their feet. I was concerned about the 50ft staircase but once again the hosts have done everything right. The staircase was easy to navigate and the individual stairs were perfect depth and the rise was not too high. They even have rope handrails to assist with walking over some uneven ground. We had zero problems.

If you REALLY want to get away...

We were looking for a quiet, off-the-beaten-path place to conclude our vacation. We hit the bullseye with the Pecos River Cliff Hiuse. It is beautiful, , spotlessly clean, and totally quiet. We couldn't recommend it more highly!

Wonderful Location

The pictures accurately show the location and environment of the house. It is really a wonderful place to stay for a few days and get away from the real world. The river can be heard from the house and the bedroom has a massive four panel patio door opening to the outside so we left the door open and only closed the screen at night to be able to hear the river. The house is equipped with everything you will need and our host provided all the information we needed to both navigate the area and use the facility. The area at the river is completely private and well shaded. There are floats and canoes to use in the river and a picnic table and other seating at the river's edge. Overall a fantastic place away from it all.

We stayed here for a week. The house is in the most beautiful spot. It is secluded and has everything you need. We didn't come at a good time for fishing, but my teenagers sure gave it their best efforts. We spent time in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos. New Mexico was good to us. A Peace of Heaven in San Jose, New Mexico

Their service level is top-notch, and beyond that, it's the details that make the difference. Hearing the river below & watching wildlife in abundance was soothing to the soul. The peacefulness, and quietness, & we enjoyed the rain as well. If one loves the nightlife there is Santa Fe about a forty-minute ride away.
