À propos de cet hébergement

Dort 8 | 4CH | Foyer extérieur | Près de l'UCSD & La Jolla

  • Summary:

Four real bedrooms for 8 guests: 2 kings, 2 queens, no sofa beds, plus 2.5 baths. Directly across the street from Standley Recreation Center with tennis courts, playground, and fields. Ten minutes to UCSD, UCSD Health, Scripps La Jolla, and La Jolla Cove; Sprouts and coffee within a short walk. A professionally refreshed mid-century home with a private courtyard, fire table, and grill, for families, groups, and longer work or medical stays. Weekly and monthly rates available.

    The Space:

Four separate bedrooms, each with its own real bed: two kings and two queens. Two full baths plus a half bath. An open living and dining area in a clean mid-century modern style, a full kitchen, and a private walled courtyard with a fire table, outdoor dining, and a gas grill for San Diego evenings. Fast Wi-Fi and a comfortable place to work for longer stays.

    Guest Access:

Private entrance with a custom 4-digit code. The whole home and courtyard are yours; driveway parking for two cars, with free street parking beyond that.

    The Neighborhood:

University City is San Diego's "second downtown," with easy access to the area's major tech, medical, and academic centers. Westfield UTC, with upscale retail, dozens of restaurants, and a seasonal ice rink, is five minutes away. Marian Bear Memorial Park and Rose Canyon Open Space Park offer nearby hiking, and La Jolla Cove is a short drive of about five miles. Sprouts Farmers Market is a 10-minute walk and Vons is just down the street. For coffee, choose from Local Krave, La Colombe at Westfield UTC, or Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, including the location on the UCSD campus.

    Getting Around:

Ten minutes by car to UCSD, UCSD Health, Scripps Memorial La Jolla, and La Jolla Cove. The UC San Diego Blue Line trolley at Westfield UTC runs to the university and downtown. San Diego International Airport is about twenty minutes. Driveway parking for two cars.

    Other Things to Note:

No central air conditioning. Every bedroom has a fan, and University City's coastal location means evenings cool down even in summer.

Standley Pool, across the street, is a city-run pool (12 lanes, shallow end for recreation swim) with a small admission fee ($5 adults, $2.25 kids). Public hours are limited: recreation swim Sunday 11–4 and Monday/Wednesday 7–8:30 pm; lap swim Tuesday/Thursday 7 am–2 pm and the same evening and Sunday hours. The pool is closed Fridays and Saturdays and on some holidays. Children under 8 need a paying adult in the water within arm's reach. Hours change by season; check sandiego.gov/pools before you count on it.

The rec center's tennis courts, playground, and fields are open daily.

    Interaction with Guests:

Self check-in with a private keypad code. We're a local team and reply quickly if anything comes up during your stay.

Les points forts : Propreté, arrivée, communication et exactitude de l’annonce
This property is well furnished and not cluttered. All four bedrooms are comfortable with good mattresses. Lots of storage space. The kitchen is well equipped. Although the property is on a main road, the road noise was not bad and traffic lessoned considerably at night. There really is no back yard, which was not clear to me from the pictures. The back of the house is only 8-10 feet from the neighboring two story house. Although there is no real back yard, the front yard is completely enclosed by a high stucco wall and has nice seating with a firepit, a barbecue and patio lighting. It's quite cute and private. If you have kids, there is a large public park and playground right across the street which was great for us. Our kids spent hours over there. The location was very convenient - lots of stores within 5-10 minutes and centrally located for pretty much anything you want to do in coastal San Diego. We were there during a heat wave and there is no air conditioning. The bedrooms are all upstairs and it was quite warm that first night. However, being second floor bedrooms, it's safe to leave the windows wide open all day and all night. With the plethora of fans that we had available, the ventilation and the breeze (this is inland but not too far from the coast), it was comfortable. This is a great place for a family traveling to San Diego. The neighbors have chickens. Can't see or smell them, but they make a big racket at dawn. We found it cute.
