This stylish 58 sqm apartment in the heart of Salzburg's old town is in a building dating back to the 13th century. Built in the 19th century listed buildings in the quiet and romantic Goldgasse next to the world famous Getreidegasse.
The apartment is located in the fourth and thus upper floor of one of the oldest and most worthwhile houses in the old town of Salzburg. It is lovingly renovated to the latest standard and offers comprehensive living comfort. In the immediate vicinity you will find the famous Cafe Tomaselli, the Salzburg Cathedral, the festival houses and Mozart's birthplace. In the evening, the city's trendiest bars and restaurants are within walking distance.
The public transport is just a few minutes walk away, the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof in about 15 minutes by bus or taxi. Taxis can drive to the house. Parking is available in the Mönchsberggarage.
The house was built in 1374 and is a listed building. There is no lift.

Wonderful clean and well appointed apartment in the Old Town Centre

Amazing location, wonderfully appointed and very clean apartment at the very top (4th floor walk up) in a 13th century building. The room is small but has (almost) everything needed for a perfect stay. We were lucky enough to be here over Christmas and the Markets were almost directly outside our front door!! A few points to note: the washer/dryer (combo in one machine) is shared across 4 apartments on the floor in an unlocked door at the end of the hall - if people cooperate, it’s doable, but don’t expect to be able to both wash (about and hour) and dry (4 hours!!??) as it can only be used between 9a and 6p, thus leaving all other apartments without any chance of washing too. As stated above, the apartment is very well appointed, but we did run into a few issues: 1) the hairdryer in the room was broken and dangerous - sparked often. The microwave / oven combo has lost use of the dial, hence little to no control over time and/or temp. IT IS ALSO WORTH NOTING THERE IS NO OVEN - the cooktop is great, but there is no way to bake in the apartment. All that said, we had a wonderful Christmas in Salzburg and would definitely rent this apartment again!! We hope to be back :)

Amazing, unique and truly reflective of the old world surroundings of beautiful Salzburg. Ultra clean and filled with the proper amenities. Location was perfect with all tourist attractions steps away, including the fortress Hohensalzburg. Thank you Alice for all your prompt attention when needed and also for a comfortable bed with good pillows. Plus, the Netflix on TV was a nice surprise to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.

Charming Old World Salzburg apartment in the Middle of "Old Town"

700 year old property with an exceptional location in the middle of Salzburg "Old Town" pedestrian only zone. The apartment has a charming Old World feel but with well equipped and modern kitchen and bathroom facilities. It is situated 4 flights and 80 steps up (my wife counted!) from the ground level without a lift. Although my wife and I are in our mid 60s, we did not find this to be an issue for us. Also the central location, close to bars, restaurants and other activities means that you will hear a lot of noise from the night revelry, but with 1 foot thick exterior walls and windows on the outside and inside closed the unit is exceptionally quiet. Alice was easy to communicate with by email or VRBO App and the initial access to the unit was smooth and easy.

The location was very convenient to the old town area and all of the happenings in Salzburg. Apartment is well appointed with everything needed for your stay. Just need to be aware that the unit is on the 4th floor and has no elevator.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Wir haben 12 sehr schöne, entspannte Tage im hervorragenden Domizil - eines der ältesten Häuser Salzburgs - der Familie Perrer verbracht. Die 4. Etage hat manchmal etwas Kraft gekostet, aber auch das haben wir ab dem 2. Tag recht locker bewältigt :-) Insgesamt war alles perfekt und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder ! Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Familie Perrer ☺️

Unique property

Issue with check in on arrival. Room was locked. Had to contact owner and wait for a while at a nearby restaurant. It is a very nice nice property but there are a couple of items to note. Although on the fourth floor you can expect to hear the garbage trucks at 6:00 am almost every day. There is a washer and dryer for the unit but if you do not read German it will be difficult. I recommend the owner provide manuals for the electrical items. TV, Microwave, etc. are confusing.

Superb apartment!

We were delighted with this lovely apartment in the heart of historic Salzburg. Situated in a 14th century building, we were surrounded by beautiful shops, restaurants and historic buildings and museums. And to have access to both a clothes washer and dryer was wonderful! Alice was the perfect host, highly responsive to every inquiry. We definitely recommend this luxury apartment to anyone hearty enough to summit the 4 long flights of stairs with their luggage. It will truly be worth it!

Brilliant location, wonderful apartment

We loved the location and the building had so much character - so much like Mozart's House which is right nearby. The flat itself was really well appointed, comfortable, warm, well-equipped and nicely furnished. The building was very quiet which is surprising for such a central location. It was so easy to visit everything in the city - cathedral, Residence, Castle, Tomaselli's Coffee House, Museum of Modern Art, and access to the station was good too. The 80 steps up to the apartment were always a joy as there are so many quirky things to look at on every landing.

Great Stay in a Great Location

Very nice place in the center of town. It's a historical building so take that into account - you will need to summit four flights of stairs unaided and this can be a challenge depending on your party. Will certainly stay again when we're in Salzburg.

Charming!

I loved the apartment. Great location. Elegantly designed. Much larger than I expected. Exceedingly clean and comfortable. I was a bit worried about all the stairs with luggage, but it was actually quite easy. After all the great food I consumed in Salzburg, the stairs were a welcome way to work off the calories! I was also taken aback when I discovered that there would be no one there to greet me or show me around the apartment even though it was an early afternoon arrival. It all turned out just fine, however. Clear directions were provided, and all was well. I would definitely stay here again.

Historic property in Salzburg's Old Town

We truly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this gem of a property in Salzburg's Old Town. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and impeccably well furnished. The bed was the most comfortable of our entire trip, and the comforter was luxurious! I wrapped myself up in it as I journalled each morning in the chair near the window. It was raining during our first day, and we really appreciated the ability to wash and dry our clothes (shared with other vacation rentals and located down the hall) and take advantage of the high speed internet service to stream Amadeus on our laptop (plugged into the large TV monitor) as we waited for the rains to pass. Watching that movie again really brought the sites of Salzburg, and the life of Mozart to life. The kitchen was a gourmet's dream, and we enjoyed a decadent meal in one rainy evening, as the nearby grocery store is incredibly well stocked. There were even champagne glasses, and a beautiful sachertorte - with leftovers for breakfast! This was the perfect getaway for our 25th wedding anniversary, and the 79 steps to and from the apartment just allowed us to drink more wine, and eat more cheeses and meats from the farmers' markets.
