Prachtige complete vakantiewoning.

Wat een prachtige vakantiewoning in een geweldige omgeving. Wij zijn er een week in de herfstvakantie geweest, heerlijk weer, de kinderen konden nog lekker zwemmen in het zwembad. De woning is meer dan compleet en heeft alles (denk aan zwembad, afwasmachine, wasmachine, houtkachel, open haard en een compleet ingerichte keuken) voor een goed verzorgde vakantie. In de omgeving is heel veel te zien en te doen.

Perdu dans un écrin de verdure, cette propriété bordée de bois est riche d’une faune qui émerveillera petits et grands. Le gîte est grand, confortable et très bien équipé. Une belle piscine très propre avec transats et parasols. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par ses propriétaires. Toutefois ce site est un peu excentré par rapport aux lieux touristiques du Périgord! D’où quelques kms chaque jour.

Lovely barn conversion in beautiful area

We had a fabulous time with friends in the gîte des Lueurs - great rural location for relaxation, visits to beautiful historic villages, castles and markets, and a great spot to just relax and enjoy the pool on a hot day. Green and safe space for children to play in, roam whilst safe off the main road. Clean and modern rooms and kitchen. A magical time.

4 week stay

We had a wonderful time at Lueurs de Gorce and stayed at the Les Chenes gite. Raquel and Frederic were the perfect hosts. They live on site but out of sight in a separate house about 70 m from the gite. The pool was fab. A car is essential. There are several activities within a 10-20 min car journey- two local "Bastide" towns, a gorgeous riverside beach & several restaurants. Issegiac & Villereal are 20-30 mins away and have fantastic weekend markets, also Evening markets in July & August. The All Trails APP will show several local walks which are great. The road cycling opportunities are fantastic- Acquitaine rentals are excellent

La maison et la piscine sont très agréables et propres. Les propriétaires sympas et discrets. Le terrain propre et immense. Seul inconvénient : les 2 chambres doubles qui sont l’une au dessus de l’autre sont vraiment extrêmement mal insonorisées.

Very enjoyable holiday

We enjoyed a lovely holiday here in August 2019. Mandy and Dave were very welcoming and the house was comfortable with everything needed available. The pool temperature was just right and perfect for us to cool off after long hot days exploring local Bastide towns, Lascaux caves or canoeing down the Dordogne. Highly recommended!

Erholsamer Urlaub an der Dordogne

Wir haben zwei sehr erholsame Wochen in landschaftlich wunderschöner Umgebung verbracht. Die sympathischen Vermieter wohnen auf dem selben Grundstück etwas abseits der Ferienwohnung und waren bei Fragen immer sofort für uns da und zeigten sich auch sonst äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die drei Wohnungen auf dem Areal sind so angelegt, dass genügend Privatsphäre für die einzelnen Parteien vorhanden ist. Auch der Bereich um den großen gepflegten Pool ist mit ausreichend Sonnenliegen und Schattenplätzen großzügig angelegt.

Beautiful and spacious gite in stunning location.

The gite was very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed and was really well equipped. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom and showers were great with plenty of constant hot water. The gite is located in a stunning rural location with simply breathtaking panoramic views as far as the eyes can see. It is also perfectly placed to be able to get to the many beautiful towns and villages across the Dordogne. The owners, Amanda and David were very welcoming and gave us so much useful advice and information about both the local area and the surrounding area which enabled us to visit many of the delightful bastide towns and also eating out at the local restaurants. We had a thoroughly wonderful week at Les Charmes and would strongly recommend this property to anyone wanting to experience the beauty and culture of the Dordogne.

Les Charmes charmed!!

We have just had a delightful week at Les Charmes with all the family. It is a beautifully presented property set in pretty well maintained grounds. Our gite was airy and spacious, stylish, comfortably furnished and immaculately clean (and with plenty of the basics like pots and pans and cutlery. Having been to places that have provided one cup, one plate etc per person this really does make a difference!). The pool area was very well maintained and clean and we all very much enjoyed the outdoor spaces available. Hosts Dave and Amanda were on hand and always very helpful. If you want a busy nightlife close to hand this is not the right place for you... but if you want a chilled relaxing holiday where the frogs ( yes ... many many frogs!) sing you to sleep at night this is absolutely lovely!!

Beautifully set out with everything you could want or need. Private patio area.

My 4 friends and I had a wonderful time in Les Chenes (the largest of the gites) the beds and furniture were very comfortable and the location was fabulous for easily exploring a large part of the surrounding area. We went to Lascaux and Sarlat amongst many other places and on the last evening to a very good local family run restaurant recommended by David our host. I have stayed here 2 years ago with another friend, and we all fully intend to return again. The peacefulness and ambience of this gite complex is “par excellence”, I just wish the weather had remained warm enough for us to swim in the fantastic pool provided for our use. There was also a wood burning stove provided for us to use if it became chilly in the evening, we used it once and found it very easy to operate and it really warmed up the whole gite very quickly. Definitely an excellent place to stay with a great location, excellent facilities and friendly English hosts.

Extremely comfortable gite with heated pool and welcoming cats

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Les Chenes. The property was even better than promised on the website with comfortable sofas and beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The setting is lovely with deer seen in the garden a couple of times. Although the weather was a little mixed, we swam in the pool when the sun shone through even at the end of September. A car is necessary but traffic is light and it is easy to get around. We loved the Bastide towns of Beaumont and Monpazier, both within 10 minutes drive. It is well worth the drive to the Sunday market at Issigeac which is a beautiful medieval village in its own right. There are also many other beautiful places to visit on the Dordogne a little further away. It goes without saying that the food was excellent and advice from David and Amanda was 'spot on' including the clear instructions for getting there. All in all, an excellent holiday and we would recommend Les Chenes as a base for visiting the Perigord region.

Fabulous gite in great Dordogne location

We spent two weeks in Les Chenes (the 4 bedroom property) in July 2017. Lovely gite for 7 of us; one family of 5 and an additional couple. Conversion has been done very tastefully, and still has huge character, whilst has all the modern finishes in the all important bathrooms and kitchen. Very well equipped, including the outside furniture. Swimming pool spotlessly clean and a great size as 3 properties do share the one pool. Quiet, secluded location, yet only a short drive to the supermarket, and many of the wonderful Medieval cities are within easy reach.
