Beautiful and unique eco-friendly house with stunning views

  • Les Peyriers is located in the hamlets of Bigorre - Les Maziaux on the edge of the Meyzenc plateau in the Southern part of the Auvergne region.

    The house is very spacious, warm and cozy with lots of natural light. It has stunning views of the surrounding valleys and hills from almost every window.

    Built with stones and slates and following traditional architectural designs to blend in, the inside is contemporary and warm using local and eco-friendly materials, and offers all the comfort one would expect of a modern house.

    The house has three levels with the ground floor being the main living space. The large chef-like kitchen opens onto the dining and living space. One bedroom, large bathroom and powder room complete the ground floor plan.
    Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and one reading and relaxing space. The last level has a big attic room with 4 beds and a sink.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Michel et nous avons passé un très bon séjour au gîte des Peyriers avec toute notre famille de 6 à 75 ans. Une semaine de fortes chaleurs, ou nous avons apprécié, l'espace dans la maison à tous les niveaux, la qualité du logement, le confort, la luminosité du salon avec cette vue imprenable sur la montagne. Un beau gîte

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au gîte Les Peyriers, qui est situé dans un cadre magnifique le hameau des Maziaux, la vue depuis la salle à manger est superbe. Le gîte est très agréable, bien équipé, bien organisé. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Michel le père du propriétaire qui nous a présenté la fabrication du pain. J'ai découvert une très belle région, j'ai été frappé par le nombre d'hirondelles dans le ciel. Gîte à recommander

Splendide! Que ce soit le site, la région, ou le gîte, tout était parfait! Le gîte est fabuleux, hyper bien équipé. Literie et propreté irréprochable. Matériaux et équipements de grande qualité. Je chercher ce qui nous a manqué, mais je ne trouve pas… Quant à notre hôte (son père puisque Ludovic réside à l’étranger), un petit conseil, invitez le un soir pour l’apéro, il a tant de choses passionnantes à raconter! Stunning French Countryside!

Five adult family members and my adult niece stayed comfortably in this amazing architectural masterpiece. The home is as pictured and so much more! It is ideal for large (I would say adult) groups but I would easily return with my husband alone, given its romance. The kitchen has every appliance you can think of from espresso maker to blenders. It's a chef's delight. We were surprised to learn we were staying in a 16th century French hamlet! The hosts greeted us with a fire already burning in the fireplace and a bottle of local wine. Michel and Ludovic could not have been more attentive. We stayed here to easily access Yssingeaux (30 min/where our niece is studying). The curvy country roads take a bit to master but we day-tripped to Lyon (2 hours), Le Puy (30 minutes), and even ventured as far as (3.5 hours) Chamonix. It is a quiet place to return at the end of the day. I'm sure I could write a novel in this home--it enjoys views from every single window. In March, the birds were beginning to sing and the flowers and trees were starting to bud. It was warm enough to eat outside during the evenings and watch the sunset, and yet still enjoy the spectacular and modern wood burning fire in the living room every evening. You must walk the hamlet and discover the 500-year old bread-baking houses, the vista of the valley, and the thatched roof stone homes just steps from the expansive yards. I didn't want to leave. Thank you!

If you want a break from busy cities and crowded streets, this house is perfect. The drive from Valence was two hours with plenty of switchbacks. Ludovic, the house’s co-owner, attentively answered questions and provided directions. (He even explained how to call French phone numbers both inside and outside France!) He doesn’t live close to the house but his father, Michel, does. When we arrived, Michel gave us an introductory tour to the house. We don’t speak much French and Michel isn’t fluent in English, but Google Translate came to the rescue! We also chatted with Ludovic on the phone.Michel is a friendly do-it-yourselfer, and he lent a hand when needed. When these two desert dwellers were cold, he showed us how to control the heated floor tiles. When the boiler went out, Michel quickly reset it.The house is comfortable and the view across to the Velay valley from the dining room is beautiful, especially early in the mornings when the valley fills with fog and clouds. We did a lot of driving around the countryside enjoying the fall leaves as well as grazing cattle, horses, goats, and sheep. We hiked Mount Signon. We took a day trip to Le Puy-en-Velay and climbed hundreds of stone steps up to the ancient cathedral. Two items you would expect to find in a rental are not available in this well-stocked house: a television and a microwave. There is a projector, speaker, and screen, but the sound kept cutting out. Instead we snuggled on the couch with an iPad.

Ein Traum

Das Haus liegt sehr schön auf einen Berg gelegen. Die Aussicht ist von dort gigantisch. Das Haus selbst ist modern ausgestattet. Die Sauberkeit wird hier sehr viel Wert gelegt. Es war alles vorhanden, was wir benötigten. Sei es in der Küche, Bad usw. Ein Grill stand uns auch zu Verfügung. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und hat uns auch mit Gemüse ausgeholfen. Im aller Hinsicht ein Traumurlaub

Regroupement amical réussi

Super séjour dans un cadre et un gîte assez exceptionnels. Parfait pour un regroupement de trois familles de quatre. Un séjour paradisiaque …

Un séjour paradisiaque dans une maison belle, claire, aux volumes généreux et qui, outre son aspect esthétique, est très bien équipée pour tous les aspects d'intendance et de vie pratique. Ses larges ouvertures font que l'on a toujours l'impression d'être en plein coeur de la nature, si bien que si d'aventure le temps est moins clément, on reste volontiers à l'intérieur sans se sentir enfermés. La vue est magnifique et les couchers de soleil somptueux. Ajoutez à cela l'extrême gentillesse d'Annie et Michel, parents du propriétaire, qui habitent non loin de là, et sont toujours prêts à vous informer et vous aider.

Un cadre exceptionnel pour un séjour de grande qualité

Le gîte les Peyriers à Bigorre est exceptionnel à tout point de vue. La maison est très agréable pour pouvoir y passer un séjour à plusieurs . Une maison très belle et agréable à vivre et très très bien équipée, bien au delà de la moyenne. L'emplacement est très beau avec une vue imprenable. Il y a des très beaux endroits à visiter dans les alentours. La proximité des parents du propriétaire, Annie et Michel est très précieuse!! Nous avons eu du très beau temps mais cette maison sera aussi très agréable en cas de temps froid. Nous avons été très satisfaits de notre séjour et pouvons recommander ce gîte sans aucune réserve.

Très belle maison avec une vue magnifique dans un endroit préservé

La maison est encore plus belle que sur les photos avec de grands espaces intérieurs ouverts sur le paysage. Elle est remarquablement construite, aménagée et équipée, alliant authenticité et modernité. Nous y avons passé un séjour en famille très agréable. Le hameau est ravissant avec les maisons aux toits de paille de seigle. La vue est magnifique et il y a de belles balades à faire au départ de la maison. La région offre plein de possibilités de visites, randonnées et baignades. L'accueil de Ludovic et de Michel a été parfait et nous avons apprécié les conversations intéressantes avec Michel et la visite de son très beau jardin et potager. Dommage qu'on ne puisse pas noter au-delà de 5 étoiles !

Satisfaction de tous les participants

Nous avons profité de cette magnifique location pour nous retrouver en famille à l'Ascension (9 adultes et 3 enfants). Le site est très agréable et permet de belles balades. La configuration de la location permet d'être ensemble sans se gêner, y compris pour la préparations des repas (la cuisine étant spacieuse également). Les produits d'entretien sont même fournis ce qui est rare, même pour ce niveau de prestation. Même si nous n'étions pas concerné, merci d'avoir aussi pensé aux personnes à mobilité réduite avec la chambre et SDB au RDC aux normes accessibilités. Je n'hésiterais pas à faire de la publicité auprès de mon entourage.

Séjour nature dépaysant

Très agréable séjour familial , dans un beau gîte fonctionnel et adapté PMR. Le village est typique très calme et préservé. La nature si belle.! Dépaysement garanti. Très bon accueil.
