'We really enjoyed our stay at Phinneywood Basement Hideaway. We slept very well. The property was easy to access and the rental was well equipped with kitchen items for cooking at home, and had plenty of bathroom accessories (towels & toilet paper). It was well lit at night and best of all, it was very affordable for our six-day stay. We hope to be back!'

'Owners were very communicative, easy to work with, and everything worked as they said. College buddy and I used it as a place to crash in between golf rounds at Dungeness, White Horse, and Port Ludlow. Location was quiet, accommodations were comfortable, and it had everything we wanted/needed. The beach view/access was great and we even caught some red crab off the rocks down the beach by the campsite with a crab snare (didn’t keep them though). 'Whidbey House was a lovely property. A real home from home. We really enjoyed our stay, especially the visits from the deer and rabbits. Rick was very responsive with a couple of queries that we had. Freeland was a great base for exploring Whidbey Island, explore off the beaten track a little and you will find some real gems, we can recommend Island Art Glass, for some beautiful glass work. If we were staying in the area again, we would love to return to Whidbey House.'

'This has to be one of your favorite vacations yet! The place is sooo nice and modern with everything you could need. In a really nice community with a heated pool and Jacuzzi. Includes bikes and paddle boards. The host was very accommodating and quick to get back to me anytime I messaged her. I would definitely recommend and hope to be back one day!'

'A great little stay for us while we stopped in Seattle for just a few nights. It was very comfortable after a whole week out in the Olympics. It’s in a great location and really close to a main bus route that we used to get to downtown. Host was very accommodating to our requests and quick to respond to messages. Overall would recommend.'

'We had never been to this area and the house was the perfect home base to use to explore the area. There’s a lot of beaches and state parks to enjoy on the island and we also explored the area’s other features including Port Townsend and wineries/cideries. The house was beautifully maintained and comfortable and we loved being there and on the water. '

'The property was very nice. There is a wood stove which was very nice and the beds were great. The downstairs bath tub did not work. No flexibility with check in or check out times at all. I felt the background check was violating my privacy and not sure i trust them with a picture they can use to open my apps '

The home is spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped—from kitchen basics to extra linens—so they had everything they needed right away.
