Hohe Düne is a district of Rostock and a state-recognized Baltic Sea resort. The town got its name from the dune, which once lay about one kilometer east of the estuary of the Warnow River. A city tour of Rostock or a day at the zoo are also recommended. Among polar bears and penguins, lions and cheetahs, you can discover some of Germany's most beautiful animal enclosures. A highlight, especially if you're traveling with children, is a visit to Karl's Adventure Farm in Rövershagen.
