Authentically restored traditional Andalusian Mill house with private pool

Casa Juventino, is a unique village house, with large private garden and swimming pool, that combines the privacy of a country property with the convenience of village life.

Located in the old part of the pretty white washed village of Riogordo you’ll find numerous bars and restaurants, a great place to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

The original part of the house has been restored retaining many of the original features such as the entrance doors, terracotta tiled floors, archway and traditional chimney. The furniture and pictures in the sitting room are traditionally Spanish, that we have enjoyed collecting from antique markets all over Andalusia.

The old stables have been converted to a modern open plan kitchen diner, with double doors to a shaded courtyard with numerous pot plants and stone staircase to the garden.

The bright and airy lounge on the first floor with contemporary floors, ceiling fans and leather sofa, has patio doors to a vine shaded terrace that connects to the stone staircase that lead to the garden and swimming pool.

There is one double bedroom on the ground floor with window to the street. On the first floor there are a further two double and one single bedrooms. Two with balconies to the street, and the master en suite with terrace overlooking the gardens and pool.
All are of good size, with antique beds, modern mattresses and feather pillows and duvets.

The family bathroom is a good size, with bath/shower and washing machine. The ensuite has a shower cubicle, and there is a downstairs toilet. Bath and swimming towels are provided.

Take breakfast under the vines on the small patio or dine alfresco on the large table by the pool, whilst watching the sun go down behind the mountains. The garden is a great space to enjoy the consecutive days of clear blue blue skies whilst listening to the relaxing sound of water in the privacy of an established garden.

What a great house!! The atmosphere as soon as you step through the large old wooden door is overwhelming. A lot of attention has been paid to the decoration and furnishing of the renovated authentic house, with a good eye for details. The garden has also received a lot of attention and has nice places to have breakfast, read a book or just enjoy everything. Both downstairs, the large modern kitchen and living room are well equipped with everything you need to have a very good stay. All rooms are neat and clean and in the cupboards, small cupboards and drawers you will find everything you could possibly need. There is a complete sewing box available if a button needs to be sewn on. Games are available. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare an extensive meal. There are small but perfectly working fireplaces both downstairs and upstairs. Keep in mind that everything in the charming village, where there are some small supermarkets, butchers, bakers, and some restaurants, is a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes' walk away, going up or down, so people with mobility problems have a challenge. Granada and Malaga are easy to drive from Riogordo and there are beautiful walking areas nearby. Highly recommended is the small village of Comares, which is located on top of a mountain, about half an hour away. Contact with the owners is perfect and friendly and if you have any questions, they are answered immediately. For us, the week we spent there was great!!

Het huis was apart en de tuin, inclusief zwembad, was erg mooi. 2 minpuntjes. Het buitenmeubilair zit erg ongemakkelijk en de bedden zijn aan de kleine kant. Dit nam wel iets van het plezier in het verblijf weg.

Just home from a wonderful and memorable holiday in Andalusia, Spain, where we stayed in this village-based property. Stunning garden, fabulous outdoor pool, modern kitchen and spacious lounge. Great location that allowed us to visit Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Antequera and Malaga with easy access to to amazing Spanish motorway system.

The villa is perfect with a modern kitchen which has all the amnenities needed to cook up a meal, the living area has a smart tv perfect for watching movies at night, the pool area was sunny all day but was still private and the garden adds to the outdoor atmosphere, simon and his wife were at hand if we needed anything but never encroached on us. The only negative if I had to pick one would be the heat at night and only having fans to cool us down with some nights being quite warm but I think that is in part down to us going at the hottest time of the year and I say the rest of the year it wouldnt be a problem, overall it was a lovely stay and the host were perfect

A lovely authentic village house beautifully restored with all modern comforts and the bonus of a very private pool in which to cool off and in a pretty and friendly village. What more could anyone want? One small niggle, there are only three eating places in the village and they were often closed except for the pizzeria above the Erovski supermarket.

We have been visiting Spain, and staying in village houses for several years, and this has to be the best house yet. Booking and initial enquiries were dealt with quickly ,nothing was too much trouble. We had an early flight, and asked if we could arrive earlier than the stipulated time - no problem, so we were sat by the pool early afternoon. The kitchen is huge, and very well equipped, loved the contrasting colours, plenty of crockery, pans, even traditional Spanish ware. The main sitting room was also spacious and light, leading out on to a shady eating area, and up to the garden and pool. The garden was a delight, lush planting, another table to sit at and the pool. The pool was larger than usual, great to cool down in . The attention to the decor was not missed by us, quirky pictures, a mix of traditional and new furniture, we loved it. It felt so welcoming and comfortable. Bedrooms were spacious, plenty of soft white towels, fans in all the rooms. Only gave the location a four star, as most of the restaurants had shut for the winter, so eating out was limited. We always holiday when the weather is cooler, so if you visit out of season, you should expect this. A very relaxing enjoyable holiday, thank you

La maison de Simon et Jeannette est vraiment très belle et agréable à vivre. Nous avons adoré y séjourner avec nos 3 enfants. La terrasse, la piscine, c'était les vraies vacances ! Le village est sympa alors nous recommandons vivement !

We really enjoyed our stay in this sleepy little Spanish town. The house is lovely, really nice-sized with well thought-out living spaces and a small but perfectly formed garden with beautiful plants and views. We found it very easy for popping out and buying food and there are a small number of very local restaurants. We also enjoyed a visit to the municipal pool which is very close by. (It felt like we never had to walk more than 3 mins from the house). I would recommend if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax with a bit to do nearby. Worked very well with our toddler (once we blocked off access to the stairs!).

We loved this house where we stayed for 2 weeks and could have happily stayed longer. The property is very spacious - probably too spacious for (mainly) the 2 of us but that is another story. There are 3 double and 1 single bedroom. The master is at the back upstairs and has a small balcony and shower room. The family bathroom is just across the corridor and very close to the front double. There is a traditional double just off the entrance hall downstairs and there is a loo and basin close to that. The house feels like a home and is extremely well equipped. It has a wonderful large living room on the main floor leading out onto a terrace. The beautiful modern kitchen is on the ground floor and has everything you could need including a full sized fridge/freezer, a range cooker and a dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the family bathroom. Being a village house, there is no air con, but there are ceiling fans in the living rooms and standing fans in the bedrooms which keep the house cool. We chose this property very carefully as a previous rental in Gaucin had been a similarly gorgeous house but we felt the lack of outside space. This garden was a delight with terraces and shady spots and the gorgeous pool which is a really decent size that one can actually swim in. Many hours were spent in and around the pool. Another plus is that it is TOTALLY private! I know we shouldn't want or need tv and/or wi-fi when on holiday but we do and it was brilliant to have fast wi-fi and a large smart TV that we could access our Netflix and Amazon films on. The house def. gets 5 stars but the village was maybe slightly too quiet for us. Although the local supermarkets are very close and well stocked I didn't actually want to cook when on holiday so would have preferred there to be a better choice of places to eat in the village. However it is in driving distance of very many larger villages and towns and, of course, the city of Malaga (and the airport) is but 45 minutes away. We didn't meet the owners but we had a lot of contact with them before and during our booking and they were hugely responsive and helpful to any questions we had. Although there was a useful restaurant guide in the house I would recommend that you get a Visitors' Book for the property so that guests can pass on their pearls of wisdom about where to go and what to see to the next people lucky enough to rent this beautiful property. Das Haus mit seinen 4 schön gestalteten Schlafzimmern, der wunderschöne Garten mit Pool ist ein Traum! Wir haben hier als Familie eine schöne Zeit verbracht. Das Haus liegt direkt in der kleinen Stadt - Supermarkt und Tapasbars sind in direkter Nähe. Der Pool ist gepflegt mit vielen Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten im Garten zum Entspannen. Die Küche ist groß und gut ausgestattet.

Fantastic house with beautiful private garden and pool, centrally located in the village. The village is lovely with locally run restaurants, bars and shops, and friendly people. Will definitely return!

Ein tolles Haus mitten im Ort. Trotzdem eine Oase der Ruhe mit wunderschönem kleinem Garten und Pool. Die Tatsache, dass es vor und nach Sonnenauf-/untergang noch etwas kalt war (Anfang April) haben Simon und Jeanette gut gelöst, indem sie einen elektrischen Radiator, Brennholz und einen Gasofen zur Verfügung gestellt haben. Die Küche ist riesig und aussergewöhnlich gut ausgestattet für ein Ferienhaus. Jederzeit wieder!!!

Enjoyed a relaxing four week stay in this nicely presented townhouse in Sep/Oct. The house was clean and well equipped and we wanted for nothing. Lovely garden area/pool where we spent most of our time enjoying the sunshine - the space was ideal for the four of us. There are several bar/restaurants within close walking distance that offer reasonable food at very reasonable prices. Three small supermarkets in the town are more than adequate for all essentials. The seaside resort of Torres de Mar is an easy 30 min drive away, close to which you'll find hypermarkets to stock up on any bargains. Simon was a perfect host but unobtrusive. He'd be round twice a week to clean the pool and just a phone call away in the event of any problems. Security deposit returned promptly, thanks Simon. Be wary of the speed limits when driving - we arrived home to find a speeding ticket in the post - it appears the Spanish are hitting motorists hard in order to help reduce their national debt! All in all, a lovely townhouse in a lovely part of the world. Recommended.

Could not fault this place. The house is old with many original features tastefully restored complimented by the modern kitchen, lounge, bathrooms and bedrooms. Town setting yet with beautiful country views from the garden which is full of well kept plants and has an amazing pool. Simon & Jeanette were the perfect hosts, there when you needed them but left in peace to enjoy their home. The whole experience was faultless from our first enquiry to check out. Highly recommended if you want a relaxing break in real Spain. The local people, bars, shops and of course the house made this a very difficult place to leave. We will be back!!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Jueventino in May 2016. The house was exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. There is a lovely garden for relaxing in, however we found it strange that there were only two sun loungers for a house that can accommodate seven people. Riogordo is a very friendly working village, typically Spanish, whilst we were there we did not come across many other tourists. In the village the restaurants are bars that sell food, apart from one pizzeria, that suited us as we enjoyed the local tapas and enjoyed cooking in the house. Simon kept us informed throughout the booking process and the instructions to get to the house were very clear. Arriving after a long journey, a small welcome pack would have been a nice touch. We would the recommend Casa Jueventino for those who want to experience rural Spain.
