My family stayed with relatives for 4 nights in July. We were 4 adults and 5 kids ages 6 to 10. The house was very comfortable and as described. The kids loved that they shared their own room with 3 huge beds. The concierge booked us a guided tour in Manuel Antonio park that was wonderful. He also helped secure a private chef at the house (first time any of us had experienced that) which we would highly recommend doing. The concierge/manager was completely accessible, responded quickly when we had questions, and made check in and check out a breeze. We saw monkeys and toucans directly from the house! Overall this was a great stay and is highly recommended.
We stayed a week at Casa Luz and enjoyed it to the fullest! The first morning we awoke to a troop of squirrel monkeys, some with babies, on the deck. Their antics were delightful even when one took a dip in the swimming pool. We enjoyed bird watching, seeing toucans, scarlet macaws and many other beautiful birds. The iguanas visited us daily and the butterflies we saw were exquisite. My entire family agreed this was the perfect choice to enjoy the beauty and wildlife that Costa Rica has to offer!!
My entire family loved the property and were sad to go! The kids were especially thrilled to see the monkeys on the deck everyday around sunset. Highly recommend and would stay here again anytime.
This was such a great place! Costa Rica is beautiful and this house sat in the middle of beautiful! The house was clean, and Susan came 3 times in the week to clean, do both house and personal laundry. She was great and we wanted to bring her hone. Meifi was a gem. We gave him a list of things we wanted to do and he arranged EVERYTHING! it was so nice to be able to enjoy our family vacation without trying to plan things in a country we are unfamiliar with. He was very accommodating when we wanted to add things last minute and without him, we would have a lot of stress! We had 4 adults and 3 kids and the house was perfect for us. The pictures do not do this place justice. Would highly recommend a stay here in this beautiful home and with these wonderful people to assist.
Our stay was nothing short of incredible. From our house, we often saw monkeys, toucans and macaws flying overhead. It was very quiet and even though we were in a neighborhood, out back it felt like you were in the jungle all by yourselves. The concierge Mefiboseth, was fantastic, and responded immediately to any and all questions and recommendations. This place was a block to a mini-supermarket and minutes walking to restaurants and other stores. We would stay there again if we are able to go back. Everything was just as described and the home was beautiful!
Beautiful property! Daily visits from capuchin and squirrel monkey troops, birds, iguanas, agoutis, and even a kinkajou in a tree just off the patio during dinner one night! Kitchen was wonderful to cook in. Beds comfortable. Property secure. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a luxurious property on the edge of the rainforest!
This place is incredible, as soon as you walk in you feel like you are in a tree house, we saw monkeys toucans macaws lizards and raccoons! The kitchen was well stocked but be aware there is no oil, we didnt check before we went to the store so we had to make a second trip, thankfully the store is seconds away. The one downside was the cooling situation of the big bedroom, the fans helped but the air condition unit could not keep up with the size of the room. The management were quick to respond and overall it was an incredible stay.
What a lovely property! We stayed here with our 18 year old daughter and her friend and our two 16 year old boys. There were enough KING beds that each kid could have had their own; however, the girls chose to sleep upstairs next to the master leaving the boys with 3 king beds downstairs to themselves. The pool was pretty chilly and since the property doesnât get much sun (itâs in the jungle after all) we didnât do much swimming. The water pressure is a bit âhit or missâ here. We stayed here 3 nights and 2/3 nights the showers and the upstairs bathroom sinks would just quit or not turn on at all. Other than the showers and pool though the place was amazing. We had a sloth in the tree right off the deck, toucans flying around, a howler relax in a tree further away and watch us, and then the morning we departed we had 20 squirrel monkeys surround us! They kept from tree to tree right in front of our eyes, even climbing on the deck rails and roof. It was quite a Jungle goodbye!
It's a nice house. It's in a good location with regards to getting around. The house is a little tired. The decking needs replaced but nothing critical. The chef and maid service were great. I would stay there again which is version of a thumbs-up.Oh, and say hi to Iggy, the local iguana who lives under the pool deck. She enjoys fresh fruit.
We enjoyed the spaciousness of this property. 3 kids all in the basement room with 3 king size beds and their own bath. Although their slider led out to the inground pool, we locked it and had no worries. They loved it! Two couples had their own king size in suite rooms on the the top floor. The house was very quite and the only sound we heard were dogs barking and the sound of monkeys and toucans. Each morning we had coffee on the deck and were entertained by wild life surrounding us. There was construction ongoing with the house next door but it wasn't a huge issue. Two big reasons we loved staying there was 1. Susana, the housekeeper. She came every other day and tidied up the house and did laundry and changes our sheets! AMAZING. 2. We hired Chef Jenoir (Yai) to cook a few dinners and one breakfast. As it turns out, with the cost of eating out (everything is expensive) it was just as economical to have Chef Yai come in and the food was so delicious! We highly recommend hiring him to cook for you while staying here. We had enough leftovers to snack on the next day.......so so GOOD! Mefi, the concierge, was so helpful in setting up our private tours for the Private Buggy Waterfall Tour (including a wonderful, traditional, CR lunch cooked by a lovely lady at her farm. Mefi is a gem to have access to.Enjoy your stay in CR!
The property is very nice and the photos on the listing donât lie. We saw wildlife every day. Each bedroom has an AC unit. The upstairs rooms kept cool but the basement room is quite large and was too warm. One thing that could have been better communicated was the expectation on the concierge and maid service. The listingâs rhetoric indicates that by booking this property you have access to a concierge that can help plan your trip. What isnât specifically called out is that the concierge has a suggested tip of 450 left out on a sign in the house. There is a maid service that comes every other day. She also has a suggested tip amount. We did not plan for this when bringing cash and only had cash we took out for excursions and credit cards. We felt bad in that we shorted them by leaving only our remaining cash. We suggest having a concierge fee so that people know up front. Even though they knew our schedule and when we would likely be at the house, each time the maid came for 2 hours is when we were at the house. There wasnât a consistent time for her - sometimes mornings, sometimes afternoons. It was uncomfortable. Lastly, we had a weird run in with the owner upon check in. We were getting a tour outside and a woman comes up and drops dirty towels on the driveway and after a moment just says âI live here.â She then proceeded to lecture us on keeping the gate shut. No words of welcome. It was very rude especially considering the thousands of dollars we paid to stay there.
Iâm not sure where to begin! The property was stunning, the home amazing, the staff was friendly and professional! Chef Jeinor is an absolute MUST⊠We were treated to absolutely delicious 5star meals each morning and evening! (And they took care of set up and clean up! Wouldnât change a thing!
We had an amazing stay at Casa Luz for our wedding trip to Costa Rica! We shared the house with 2 other couples. My now husband and I took the large bedroom with three king beds and were able to really spread out. The wildlife we were able to see up close and personal was better than going to the national park! Everyday we had monekys, macaws and toucans right outside. The house was just perfect and we will be staying again! Thank you Beth and Kelly for the beautiful flowers as well!!
Casa Luz is such an incredible home in an amazing location. Worth every penny. Private gated home. The house was very clean and functional. Comfy beds and spacious rooms. The views from inside the home looking out into the jungle through the big windows are so amazing. We saw toucans, macaws, agouti, squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, iguanas and more every single day. It was hard to leave the house to go to our planned activities. Mefi is awesome. He was super responsive on WhatsApp. Helped book a couple tours for us. You can use Mefi and all the services they provide if thatâs your thing or you can just do your own thing. There is a small market across the street to grab snacks or whatever and plenty of great food very close by. Loved having access to a washer/dryer. We all: adults, teens, kids, loved our stay here. Highly recommend. Thank you!
We spent five nights at Casa Luz over New Years and it could not have been better! The property is beautiful, lush and centrally located for Manuel Antonio attractions. The house has everything you could need, inside and out. Beds were so comfy, AC works great, kitchen well appointed. But the best part is the wildlife!! Through the huge windows and out on the pool deck, we observed several species of monkeys, toucans, lizards, etc. Beware: the monkeys are SMART! We closed but did not lock the door to the deck and the monkeys opened the door and stole our bananas!! Lock the door! :) Take advantage of the wonderful concierge service to arrange your tours and if you can, utilize the fabulous private chef. Chef Gabriel prepared an amazing New Years Eve dinner for us at home. Laundry service was also a wonderful perk. We wouldnât stay anywhere else in Manuel Antonio!
This house, location and overall trip could not have been more perfect. Itâs right where you want to be, and the service was unmatched. The Concierge takes care of all the planning and transportation. All you have to do is tell him what youâd like to do and it will be arranged. I highly recommend taking advantage of the chef as well. We will never get over how amazing our dinners were. You will not regret booking this stay, but good luck getting a reservation bc I have shared it with everyone I know.
This villa exceeded our expectations. One of the highlights of our vacation, was seeing the wild monkeys up close at this property. The villa itself had plenty of room for our family of 6 adults. It was the perfect location. It is a very safe loction and the villa does have a security gate. There is a small convenience store within easy walking distance. There is a wonderful restaurant called Ronny's place that is just a few minutes drive. The concierge Mefi was very prompt in answering our numerous questions. The housekeeper kept everything very clean. We really enjoyed the guided tours of Manuel Antonio and the coffee farm that Mefi booked for us. We also went to Rainmaker Park with the swinging bridges and to a beach on our own which we greatly enjoyed. If you are going to Costa Rica for the wild life, this is the perfect location to be in.
Beautiful home with an incredible jungle view! If youâre looking for a place to see wildlife look no further! We saw a sloth, monkeys, birds, and more while sipping coffee on the back porch! The home itself was impeccably clean and comfortable. Our concierge helped us all throughout our stay and the recommended tours we chose were all fantastic! Highly recommend this home!
