'This Hotel is worth the experience and whilst the building is showing its age, it remains and retains its unique 'Art Deco' concept. The Staff are excellent and food is top quality. If you want to 'get away from it all' give it try, there are no TV's!'

'Lovely stay at the South Sands. Room was comfortable with a huge walk in shower and separate roll top bath. Included breakfast was great and dinner was also very good. Perfect setting on the beach. Had a great free car park. Only fault was sound proofing of the room. Was quite noisy, especially when trying to go to sleep. Luckily we always pack ear plugs so didn’t affect us for long. I had read previous reviews about the roads leading to the hotel but nothing could have prepared me from the nail...

'Did not see any staff all weekend, key left in front porch with a note on arrival. Place felt ambandoned and un safe, had it not been height of summer season would have looked for alternative on night of arrival. Advertised details incorrect no restaurant or food available after 5 hour drive had to go out to find food. Plates and cultery left in room with very noisy fridge next to bed, expected to wash up in basin in bathroom. Farm in the middle of nowhere so no where to get food. Down stairs...

'We had a wonderful visit and the location is superb. The house needed some fixing but none of the small issues really affected us but the sketchy internet was a problem. Hopefully they can improve that to make everything perfect. A truly lovely place.'

'A wonderful 5 night stay in the perfect location. Tim and Sheila were the ideal hosts; generous, kind and always ready to share their time and local knowledge to ensure we were able to get the best from our all too short stay. 'Wonderful large lodge ideal for our family. Most relaxing time ever. The lodge had everything we needed, Beds were very comfortable with lovely soft linen and the site was remote and quiet but slightly out of season which suited us, can’t imagine getting too noisy though as good space and double glazed.
