'We have stayed at the Elkader Jail House many times and the Harstad Suite is a great room for the 4 of us. The large kitchen and family space on the first floor provide plenty of space for everyone to get together and relax. Its nearby my family and takes the stress off anyone needing to make space for all of us to sleep. Its comfortable, clean and an easy to walk downtown. We'll be back soon!'

'Loved our stay at the farmhouse! We had more than enough dishes and cookware for our stay. The beds were so comfortable. We were all fast asleep as soon as we hit the pillows. It was nice to be back in a farmhouse and you can see they took care to show the history and labor of love the home was. There were little things here and there that reminded me of my grandparents farmhouse and it was nice to reminisce.'

'We were a family of 11!!I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Chris was awesome and answered all our questions!Pool and hot tub were amazing!Roku on all the tv’s!Clean open kitchen. Has a crockpot, air fryer, pizza cooker and lots of counter space.Has a pool table with a tv and air conditioner Nice big deck with gas and charcoal grillsCeiling and stand fans in all rooms!Games and puzzles for everyone Fire pit out front!Grocery stores minutes awayCoffee shop overlooking the riverRecommend Spook Cave...

'This unique place has it all: charm, class, comfort, beauty, and fun. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a gorgeous staircase leading to most of the rooms. Our room was spacious, with a luxurious bathroom. The gourmet kitchen is equipped for anything and everything with seating for eight. The adjoining dining room has a large table with additional seating and windows lining two walls. And clean! This VRBO was impressively clean! I have to say the jail was a little eery after dark, but...

'The home was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the small towns in the surrounding area. It was nice to get out of the big city and relax. Home owners where very polite and on top of communication. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for welcoming us in to your home. We will be back in the future.'
