Open plan living with wonderful natural light in a traditional stone croft house. Willie Mcleod’s House sits detached in a crofted landscape with beautiful views towards the nearby sea and the hills.

Near midway between Staffin and Uig, Willie's is well placed for access to the coast and the Trotternish Ridge with it's spectacular and wondrous Quiraing rock formations.
Inside the classic picturesque whitewashed cottage exterior is a modern-living surprise – all air, space and light downstairs in the living area, with smart, contemporary furnishings and tasteful, sympathetic decoration. The wood-burning stove adds to the air of warm, comfortable welcome.

The kitchen and bathroom finish the ground floor accommodation in style and functionality, including a walk-in shower and seperate bath and an additional single WC. The kitchen is fully equipped and newly upgraded, including electric oven, hob, washer/dryer, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and dishwasher.

Up the wide wooden stairs to 3 bedrooms – a (king-size) double, a twin and a single. We provide linen and towels. An initial basket of logs and kindling is also provided for the wood-burner. Boot room.

Off-road parking for at least 3 cars. Willie’s shares it’s large garden with our own Byre.

Free unlimited wifi. No smoking. Pets strictly by arrangement.

3 days at a beautiful location on Skye

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house in an amazing breath taking landscape. We would recommend it to everyone and will definitely return! Lorraine is a wonderful host, contact is very easy.

Gezellig en netjes huisje op prachtige locatie

We hebben met veel plezier overnacht bij deze locatie. Het is erg afgelegen en dichtbij mooie natuur. Mooie wandelpaden in de nabije omgeving en dan heerlijk bij de open haard weer opwarmen (hout beschikbaar tegen betaling). Contact met de verhuurder was erg goed en ze was erg behulpzaam bij vragen. Helaas was net de ochtend voor wij aankwamen de douche stukgegaan. De verhuurder had direct iemand laten komen maar die kon de douche niet op korte termijn maken omdat er een onderdeel besteld moest worden. Het was dus even behelpen met een klein bad maar dat ging vrij aardig.

Leuk huisje aan einde van de wereld

Ruime woning met nette slaapkamers geschikt voor 5 volwassenen en 1 baby. Zelfs traphekje beschikbaar. Ook een afwasmachine en wasdrogercombinatie. Als ik vragen had, antwoordde de eigenaren zeer snel, vriendelijk en uitgebreid. Je zit echt in het puntje van skye, wat een vrij gevoel geeft! Op korte afstand al een paar bezienswaardigheden: een wandeling met uit zicht op duntulm castle op loopafstand, kilt rock, staffin museum en quiraing. De rest is iets verder rijden. Enige minpunt woning/ keuken had wat schoner gekund en keukenspullen zijn aan vernieuwing toe

Fantastische woning met op korte afstand de Old Man of Storr en de Quiraing.

Prima woning met een prachtig uitzicht. Het is van alle gemakken voorzien en met uitstekende wifi. Voldoende mogelijkheden tot wandelen in de omgeving. Wandelkaarten en wandelroutes lagen in de cottage. Een aanrader voor een verblijf op Skye!

Wonderful cottage in a stunning landscape

Lorraine’s cottage was the most amazing rental we have ever had. The cottage was charming and authentic, very clean, spacious, well appointed and located in a stunning valley with incredible views, and close to many Skye attractions. The cottage is located next to a sheep farm with literally hundreds of sheep - such an amazing environment especially for the kids. Lorraine was an incredible host, so kind and thoughtful, and wonderful with her recommendations of attractions and restaurants/cafe. My family and I did not want to leave!

Lovely Croft house!

We wanted a place away from it all, and this house fit the bill perfectly! The house was neat and clean and well located for the activities we wanted to do on the Isle. So many sheep everywhere, but that added to the charm!

After following Lorraine’s wonderful directions we made our way to Willie McLeod’s Croft. Everything anyone could need has been thought of. We stopped at the coop on our way so we were able to make meals after exploring Skye. We met Alan who graciously told us about his dogs and sheep :-). We needed some time away from noise and found it. Lorraine and family have done fabulous and loving work to keep the feel of the Croft while renovating it. We had a great getaway.

A great place to getaway and just enjoy the solitude. We had a cozy fire in the comfort of this beautiful Croft house. Beds were comfy and kitchen was well equipped. It does not disappoint!

At the far end of the world is where you will find this gem of a stay. Loved the location and the house which came as advertised. Being that it is so far away, it could use a few more day to day items in the kitchen as it is a long way back into town.

This property is beyond special and like no place we've ever stayed before. Not only is the drive to it AMAZING, but the property itself has a picturesque setting of free range grazing land and views of the sea. Such a welcoming environment and home... including a handwritten note from the property manager. The home has a lovely decor with modern conveniences... but also has a feel of stepping back in time. As charming as can be!!! Rabbits, birds, cows, sheep are all around this area and property, as well as several gorgeous Isle of Skye landmarks. We were teary eyed upon arrival, as well as when time to leave. Just that special of a place! Could not recommend this property more highly!

Wonderful house at the North end of Skye. Peaceful with beautiful views. Driving distance to Duntulm Castle ruins and the Musuem. Host was super responsive. I would recommend for a relaxing stay.

Comfortable home in stunning, remote location

So serene, beautiful views, cosy home. It is a trek to get to this property for which you will be heartily rewarded but important for guests to be aware of. Lorraine provided great instructions and we found the property easily. Roads on Skye, including up the top end where the home is located have challenges - narrow one lane, many deep potholes etc. The home was well equipped, cosy, warm and comfortable. You would be advised to bring food supplies to enjoy eating at home and enjoying the absolute serenity. We had gorgeous lambs and sheep for company Communication with Lorraine was easy and excellent. We loved our stay here.

Quaint

The house is very quaint. You are surrounded by sheep, rabbits and sweeping views. Though the house looks old it is up to date inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back to enjoy the peace. If you’re lucky, Alan the crofter will come by and talk with you about his life farming sheep and raising Birder Collies.

Wonderful place to enjoy your holiday

This was our first time in Scotland and we learned really quick how different the roads are. Thanks to being able to stay in this location we were able to do so all the hikes we planned to do.The house is super spacious, a rarely in the UK. The surroundings are so peaceful and the view is magnificent. If you are a lover of nature, you will not be disappointed.
