Near total quiet. A secluded cabin for writers, deep thinkers, anyone needing to unplug — no TVs, no noise, just forest, a big deck over the valley, and trails out the door where I honestly don't think I've seen another soul in years.
Walk the 2.5-mile ridge loop or fork left to Jenkinson Lake. A waterfall and 8-mile lake loop. Light snow turns the trees magical. Power may blip once a year. Fully fenced, total privacy. Cozy inside, excellent wifi — cell service is spotty, which is the point.
The space Please make yourself at home! We use this home for our own vacations and are excited for you to do the same.
You are welcome to use the pots/pans/spices if you'd like to cook, washer/dryer if you need to do laundry, etc.
Our WIFI is excellent throughout the home, with smart lighting inside/outside. We have a HUGE deck for you to relax on, and plenty of tables/lounging options. The yard is fully fenced so that you will have plenty of privacy.
FYI - One thing to note is that the stairs to the top floor are spiral and relatively steep (especially the indoor stairs). Should be fine, but may be a bit of a challenge with luggage.
If you decide to explore, there are hiking/mountain biking trails walking from our home. We are also minutes from Jenkinson Lake. We are ~20 minutes from Apple Hill, ~30 minutes from Placerville, ~1 hr 15 min from South Lake Tahoe, and ~25 minutes to MANY great area wineries. There won't be a better situated home for these many great options! Enjoy it and feel free to see our guide book or request recommendations!
One last thing — I'm always working to make this place better. If anything would improve your stay, just let me know. I want you and future guests to love it here.
Guest access You'll receive a smart-lock code before arrival — no keys to lose. Park right at the cabin — the driveway fits 4 cars (5 if you squeeze). Check in anytime after 4 PM.
Other things to note IMPORTANT: Very strict quiet hours after 10pm in the neighborhood.
Please take off your shoes upon entry.
Power here is reliable but can blip about once a year during storms. If it does, you'll find flashlights, candles, and supplies in the cabin, plus board games — it might end up being the most memorable night of your trip.
For everyone's security, there's a Ring camera at the front entry (exterior only).
