The 154 year old Light Station is a 23 acre gem on the rugged and remote Mendocino Coast in Northern California. Surrounded on 3 sides by the Pacific Ocean and on the 4th by the Point Arena-Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument, the Light Station offers the most unique lodging option on the Mendocino Coast. Watch for migrating gray and humpback whales, enjoy the resident harbor seals bobbing in the water, watch the various seabirds fly by and marvel at the ever changing skies, waves and views. The recently refreshed Assistant Keeper's House 2 is a classic three bedroom, two bath family home that sleeps six. This home was just updated with new living room and bedroom furnishings, fresh paint, new low pile stain resistant carpet, laminate flooring in the kitchen and dining room, new drapes and hardware, bathroom lighting and mirrors and contemporary and classic wall decor. This comfortable home away from home features one bedroom with a queen bed, one bedroom with two twin XL beds and a master suite with a king bed, electric fireplace and ensuite bathroom. All bedrooms feature new memory foam mattresses. There is a wood burning stove in the living room (we provide the wood), flat screen TV, DishTV, DVD player with copies of the movies that have been filmed at the Lighthouse, comfortable couches and chairs and excellent high speed WiFi. You are welcome to use the picnic table on your private patio outside of the kitchen and dining room. The home comfortably accommodates up to six adults and the kitchen is stocked accordingly with pots & pans, utensils, mixing bowls, cutting boards, measuring cups, coffee maker, coffee from local free trade organic coffee roaster Little Green Bean, toaster, blender, crock pot, etc. We provide salt and pepper, bring your own spices, cooking oils, foil, plastic wrap and/or storage containers. The Pacific Ocean is out your front and back doors, the coastal mountain range and Manchester State Beach are just to the east and you are only a few steps away from the Point Arena Light Station Store.
