    Villa Šolo is situated on the eastern slopes of the nature park of the Biokovo mountain, next to the seven renowned and protected lakes of Bacina, 3 km from Adriatic sea and river Neretva delta, the biggest delta and sandy beach in the Republic of Croatia.

    Surrounded by rich forests of Orange and mandarin's, Mediterranean flora and fauna, it is a place that offers true peace and rest.
    Villa Šolo situated on the 3000 m² private property, is an ideal choice for all those wanting a real relaxation and privacy.

    First class vacation is guaranteed by the vicinity of the famous historical centers such as Dubrovnik, Korcula, Ston, Cavtat, as well as the lakes of Bacina, the valley of Neretva river, beautiful islands and Pelješac peninsula, known by its high-quality wines.

Grandioos mooie plek

Dit is een plek die je eigenlijk voor jezelf zou willen houden. Weg van de drukke stranden maar ook weer niet te ver weg. Het appartement en mogelijkheden (tuin, zwembad, zoetwatermeer, fietsen...) die we hadden waren helemaal top. Meest belangrijk was echter de manier waarop de familie, die eigenaar is van het huis (en er ook in woont), ons ontving en behandelde: als familie! Topvakantie

Just perfect

We stayed at Villa Solo for 3 weeks in June of 2015. Our first ever visit to Croatia was one to cherish forever. Pero and his family are terrific hosts. The apartment was clean, spacious and cool. The surroundings of the Villa near the Bacina lakes is simply gorgeous and the location is great for daytrips to Mostar, Dubrovnik, Korcula or Split. Nice beaches can be reached within 20 minutes by car, good supermarkets are a 5 - 10 minute drive. The apartment complex was perfect for a family with kids but is also quiet enough for couples. The food Pero and his lovely parents cooked for us on some of the nights was simply amazing. I am a hotelier with 12 year experience myself, but the heartfelt and kind hospitality this family showed is hard to find. We missed the place as soon as we left and will definitely return one day.

ontspannen week

We hadden een ontspannen week in Villa Solo. We zijn er zeer hartelijk ontvangen door de ganse familie. We hebben er zeer lekker gegeten en geproefd van hun zelfgemaakte producten. Op het gelijkvloerse appartement was er geen airco maar dat bleek niet nodig. Het is een aangename splinternieuwe ruimte. Het zwembad, voetbalpleintje en de bootjes zijn plezante extra's. De omgeving is rustig met een prachtige natuur. Het is centraal gelegen voor uitstappen naar Split, Dubrovnik, Mostar, eilandjes,... Bij een volgende reis naar Kroatië zouden we zeker weer eens langs gaan bij Villa Solo.

Beautiful Villa for a family holiday

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. We had the most wonderful stay at Villa Solo. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment which was like home from home. We arrived late in the evening from Split but were welcomed by Pero and his mother both very friendly and welcoming. Which is the main reason why we would recommend a stay here. Pero and his lovely family are first class hosts. Thank you. We loved meeting up with the other guests in the communal bar area; together we drank complimentary home made Cherry Brandy and Croatian wine - thank you to Pero's father! The children played ping pong and swam in the pool together. The gardens are really beautiful and peaceful and most days complimentary figs were offered to us - also delicious. We did some great day trips too to Gradac, KRKA National Park, Korcula Island and Dubrovnik as well as paddle boarding and canoeing in the beautiful Bacina Lakes. Highly recommend a stay here for anyone.

A beautiful setting for a fantastic family holiday

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage children. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment which was like home from home. Our flight arrived in Split in the evening. We did not arrive at Villa Solo until 11.30pm but were greeted by Pero & his mother who were both so friendly and welcoming. Pero and his family were the best hosts we have ever come across. The rest of our holiday was fantastic but what stood out was our stay at Villa Solo. We especially loved the get togethers with the other guests in the communal bar area with delicious complimentary cherry brandy & Croatian wine. As well as relaxing in the beautiful gardens with so many amazing fresh figs to eat. Truly a wonderful holiday. Would highly recommend. Thank you Pero.

Wonderful experience

There ain’t words you could describe how beautiful and wonderful this place is. You have loads of activities to choose from such as: cayaking /canoeing, swimming pool, bike riding, tennis playing, table tennis, surf paddling, etc. Our apartment was extremely clean , the hosts was really friendly. We were feeling as a part of a family during our stay. The owner offered us all kinds of fruits from his garden and home made cherry brandy ( absolutely delicious). Best holiday ever...

In Juli 2018 verbleven wij 12 dagen bij familie Krsticevic in Villa Solo. Ik had de locatie gekozen na het lezen van de vele positieve reviews op diverse sites: natuur, rust, een gezellig appartement en niet in de laatste plaats de niet aflatende gastvrijheid van de eigenaars waren steeds terugkerende elementen in deze verslagen. Vanaf de eerste ontmoeting voelden wij ons welkom. Een combinatie van een prachtige omgeving, een variatie aan Nationaliteiten op het complex en de familie - altijd aanwezig maar nooit opdringerig- maakte onze vakantie onvergetelijk; onze mooiste vakantie ooit! Ondanks het feit dat het complex op een wat afgelegen locatie gevestigd is- het dichtstbijzijnde dorp is met de auto (een must!) zo'n 15 minuten rijden verderop- is er op het terrein zelf -ook voor de kinderen- van alles te beleven; een leuk zwembad, een voetbal en tafeltennis- gelegenheid en fietsen en kayaks te huur bij de familie zelf. Een prachtig meer om de hoek (subs en kayaks te huur) en een klein supermarktje met eerste levensbehoeften (dagelijks verse broodjes, wel vóór een uur of 9.30, anders op!) op loop afstand (minuut of 3). Leuke bijkomstigheid was het feit dat wij live de halve en hele finale van het WK mee konden beleven, waarbij alle gasten -zij aan zij met de eigenaars- hun favoriete land toe konden juichen. En wat een sportieve 'verliezers'; geen vernielingen op straat, maar alleen trotse Kroaten die feestvierend hun vreugde uiten over hun deelname en feit dat hun 'kleine landje' deze prestatie toch maar even heeft neergezet. Wat een volk, wat een mensen! Tel hierbij op de goed- Engels sprekende familie die zeer welwillend is om een ieder van leuke tips voor uitjes te voorzien- en je wilt gegarandeerd nooit meer weg! Dank, dank dank, lieve Pero en familie. Onze kinderen willen jullie als opa en oma adopteren, Mladen en Jasna... Diederik, Jacqueline, Mees en Pim

A lovely villa in a quiet area in a beautiful setting

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Solo. The pool is a good size, with lots of inflatables to keep the kids happy. The accommodation is good, photos are representative. It is a short walk to the lake - although we were a bit disappointed with the lake 'beach' which was just a small rocky area with access to the water. Otherwise expect to drive about 20 minutes to nearby beaches which are stunning - Gradac, Klek and many more. All are pebbled beaches except Delta beach which is sandy, but as per the name, it is at a delta so not your classic beach. Pero and his family are lovely and will keep you right on where to go. The villa is a great base for exploring Croatia which is a beautiful country.

True hidden gem for a family holiday

Villa Solo is a fantastic place to base your holiday in Croatia and the photos and reviews just can't do it justice. Even when we booked, we were a little unsure whether it would be right for us and our two children aged 4 and 8. Any doubts were soon dispelled. Pero and his parents are just the most genuine warm and friendly people you could hope to meet. Never intrusive, but always around to give spot on help and tourism advice for anywhere you might want to explore in the whole country and intimate info on where to find hidden local spots. And always brightening your day with an endless stream of surprise gifts - a carafe of wine; a slice of watermelon by the pool; a piece of homebaked cake; a couple of mojitos on a hot day; a punnet of fresh figs, grown on site . . . all very kind and just out of the blue as you are relaxing. The highlight is the barbecue/dinner night which the hosts cook for all the guests once per week - a great social occasion, great food and plenty of wine too! They have a couple of kayaks you can use for free to explore the lakes which are just a short walk away, and Pero can even tell you the interesting things to find there too. There is a great 10km running circuit around the lakes if you like to keep fit. Villa Solo itself is very clean and newly refurbished, though you won't spend much time in your apartment. Most likely you will eat outside in a communal area with the other guests and enjoy the great views and relaxing vibe whilst the kids all play together in a safe environment. It was fortunate for us that the three other families there at the same time as us were all British with kids of similar age as it worked really well, but I think it would still have been fine with mixed nationalities. The grounds immediately around the villa have fig, pomegranate, orange, kiwi and olive trees and are very peaceful. Beaches of the Makarska Riviera are within easy reach (just 15 mins), as is Dubrovnik (easy 2 hour drive). You may think the location is slightly out of the way, but it really isn't, plus the great surroundings and your friendly hosts far outbalance being on the coast, plus Pero can point you to little known local places you won't find in any guide book. If you are wondering whether or not Villa Solo is for you, seriously, take the chance and book it - you won't regret it and I'm pretty convinced that you too will only have good things to say about the place when you return!

Beautiful setting, amazing hosts, very comfortable

Amazing place, amazing Croatian family. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived and were greeted by Jasna with homemade cherry liquor and fresh figs! Our appartment was bueatiful, exceptionally clean and very spacious. We loved the open terrace in the property... the shared space to meet with other holiday guests and our hosts,Pero, Jasna, Mladen and Daria. throughout our stay we have had plenty of opportunities to taste their home cooked dinners, figs and wine.. Most importantly , nothing was too much trouble for Kristicevic family. They were always ready to help with planning our daily activities. We did paddle boarding on Bacina lakes, kayaking, visited island of Miljet and Dubrovnik. The local beeches are really pretty and not busy at all. Plenty of lovely places to try local food as well to keep everybody happy.We will never forget our fantastic holiday in Croatia. First visit to this beautiful country gave us one of the best holidays we have ever had! We would whole heartedly recommend Villa Solo Irena, Rahul,Anushka,Rohan

Fantastic apartment, wonderful hosts.

We had a fantastic holiday in Villa Solo. The location and apartments was perfect for our family's requirements. The apartment was clean and cool if you needed to escape the heat. The pool was perfect for hot afternoons as there is plenty of shadeto to rest in. The lakes were so close and beautiful for using the hosts kayaks and hiring paddle boards this really added to our holiday. The beaches were also beautiful, with snorkelling and rock jumping opportunities and then to have a tennis court a short walk away was perfect. I have already recommended this villa to friends and family and we are all keen to return!

An outstanding house in beautiful surroundings!

Villa Solo is a gem of a house set is the most beautiful surroundings. It is made even more special by the wonderful family who live there - their generosity is overwhelming as they do all they can to make your stay perfect. You really feel part of the family when you stay. We have just returned from a fabulous holiday there and will definitely return. Pero, Mladen and family have so much knowledge of the region which they share with you ensuring the perfect days out whether paddle boarding in the lakes, canoeing, visiting local towns or relaxing with friends or other families. The rooms at the house are immaculate and finished to a very high quality. You will love every minute of your stay - we certainly did! Mladen even grows his own fruit in the gardens and makes his own wine which tastes amazing. Overall, it's absolutely outstanding - their attention to detail is second to none. We cannot recommend Villa Solo enough. Thank you for making our holiday so special!

Beautiful villa in the heart of a village

Just come back from our 3rd trip to the lovely Villa Solo-we flew to Split, an easy drive down on the A1 from Split- this time we joined a couple of other families there for a big group holiday;it is the perfect place for a get together as there's loads of space for sitting in the quiet garden and a beautiful terrace were you can cook/eat together . The addition of the table tennis table was great fun for a bit of competition- also new were two Canadian canoes,perfect for exploring the lakes . As always ,what sets this place apart is the lovely host family- so welcoming,generous and hard working- thank you Mladen,Jasna,Pero,Darjia,for your hospitality- can't wait to return soon !

Superb accommodation

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Solo and were very well looked after by Pero and his family. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The facilities kept our three boys entertained, swimming in the pool, canoeing at the nearby lake and table tennis. Gradac is a lovely seaside town about 20 minutes away by car. We would be very happy to stay at Villa Solo in the future as it was such a relaxing holiday. Thank you to Mladen, Yasna, Pero and family.

Fantastic Place & Wonderful Host Family!

Pero & the family were really wonderful hosts. They're around to help with good advice & info about the area, but they give you space too. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had enough space for five of us, though we spent most days and evenings outside. Mladen's generous daily gifts of fresh fruits were much appreciated. We spent many an evening on the terrace enjoying their company and making new friendships with other guests. The pool is clean and a nice temperature and there's plenty of sunbathing space. We also used the table tennis a lot and hired out the local tennis court for a reasonable small fee. The nearby lake is great fun for kayaking and within a few miles are some gorgeous beaches. We spent a lot of time in Gradac - a nice seaside town about 15mins drive away with good beaches & restaurants. Villa Šolo is the perfect base or exploring the area, whilst also being good for taking a day off from trips and just relaxing. Split, Mostar, Dubrovnik, Ston are all good for day trips, whilst our favourite was definitely the ferry trips over to Korčula. Loads to do in the area too including kayaking near Omiš (arranged by Pero) and quite a few beaches have jet-skis and inflatables. Would definitely visit again! ;-)

Paradise

This is a truly special place. This is my families first time to Croatia and we could not have picked a better apartment. Pero and his family are the most generous host and made our stay and holiday one to remember. The apartment is situated about 8 mins from the centre of Ploce and is a tranquil oasis. We had a two bedroom apartment on the first floor with balcony which over looked the stunning hills, garden and pool, perfect place to sit and have breakfast. The Apartment was spacious and very well furnished, air-conditioning in the lounge and main bedroom, but it kept the whole apartment cool. Pero father brings around fruit every day when you are sunning yourself by the pool. We had many evening gathered around the communal table drinking his home made cherry and eating the dried figs, they also cooked us a meal which was delicious. The lake is only a 3 min stroll down the road and his beautiful, Pero lent us his Canoe and we ventured out on the lake. I can not recommend this villa highly enough, it is perfect place to go exploring other areas of Croatia and set in the most stunning landscape. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent

Excellent rural accommodation. We had a great couple of weeks at Vila Solo. The accommodation is high quality and Pero and his family were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. A good central location to explore southern and central Dalmatia. Would highly recommend.

Good family !!!

Avons passé une agréable semaine dans cette magnifique propriété bien arborée et bien entretenue. Avons été accueillis avec des figues fraîches maison, délicieuses. Nous avons aussi eu l'occasion de goûter au "cherry" maison, très bon. L'appartement était propre, seul bémol, il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude dans la cuisine pour faire la vaisselle. Malgré cela nous avons passé un agréable séjour. La nature autour de la propriété et les lacs sont très sauvages et jolis. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, souriants et de bons conseils. Nous ne pouvons que recommander cette location.

We had a wonderful time here the lakes were very beautiful and there are bikes and lots of activities, its quite remote and rural and a good place to base yourself if you are going to travel around with a car,The owners were very welcoming, generous and bent over backwards to help.

“Missing it as soon as we left”

Our 2 week holiday over lapped a previous reviewer (Frankie)....we managed the extra week and was given fresh figs picked every morning!!! Even at pre-7am when we were leaving for our flight. The hosts were outstanding. Kind, friendly, fun and with a wealth of local knowledge. Not just for places to go or eat but also Dalmatian history. A very generous with their sherry and wine. The location is a bit out of the way but it really doesn't matter. Coming home after day trips were pleasure. And the location gives good access to a long stretch of the Dalmatian coast - from Dubrovnik to Split (both day trips), or inland to Mostar. But some days just hanging out a Villa Solo and lazing at the lake was divine. Local restaurants aren't listed on Trip Advisor so listen to the hosts....they really do know the best places, or ask them to cook for you. We are already looking to book for a week next year. Stayed August 2014, traveled with family

“Wonderful family”

We have just returned from a magical 2 weeks in Villa Solo where we were very well looked after by 3 generations of the lovely Krsticevic family . It is quiet but there is so much to do-we cycled/ran around the circular route around the lakes, canoed,paddle boarded, kite surfed, fished, banana boated, river rafted, snorkeled,played tennis against local players,played football every night,swam,had pizza delivered(!) and ate lovely fresh dinners cooked by the owners (with produce from the garden). There is an outside kitchen and a big table where we sat outside and ate and played cards with all the other guests and practiced our foreign languages!! The owners went out of their way to introduce us to the area and make the most of our holiday.I can't fault this place and we will definitely return soon (in the fig season- we just missed it by a few days!)

Super!!!

Nous recommandons fortement cet endroit. Nous avons passé une semaine formidable grâce à un accueil chaleureux par des hôtes formidables, un environnement propice à la détente et à une situation géographique qui nous a permis de profiter du lac à proximité et des différents sites magnifiques à moins de 1 heure de la maison (Dubrovnik, Mostar, les îles...). Nous avons eu du mal à quitter tout cela... Une mention spéciale pour la disponibilité et la gentillesse des proprietaires, que nous espérons pouvoir revoir lors d'un prochain séjour chez eux!

QUESTO E' IL POSTO CHE STIAMO CERCANDO!

Il mio compagno ed io siamo stati a Villa Solo nella seconda metà di Agosto 2010. Non appena abbiamo deciso per la Croazia come destinazione per le nostre vacanze, ho cercato in internet un posto che non fosse il solito albergo e quando mi è apparsa la foto di Villa Solo in mezzo alla natura ho subito pensato "Oh sì, è questo...questo è il posto che stiamo cercando!". Noi siamo così, apprezziamo i luoghi veri, che ci facciano scoprire la gente e le cose del posto e tutto questo l'abbiamo trovato. La Famiglia Krsticevic ci ha trattati in modo più che amichevole, eravamo anche noi quasi parte della loro famiglia. Ogni giorno ci riempiva di fichi, la nostra merenda per il mare, e la sera ci aspettava sempre un buon bicchierino di sherry e due chiacchiere intorno al bel tavolone all'aperto. Siamo stati proprio bene, dovessimo tornare nella stessa zona torneremmo proprio a casa Krsticevic. Grazie. Manuela e Luca

Der wohl schönste Platz i

Der wohl schönste Platz in Kroatien um Urlaub zu machen. Wir kommen seit 2007 hierher, und mittlerweile ist es mehr als "nur" Urlaub, es ist schon unser zweites Zuhause. Die Lage des Hauses und der Seen ist perfekt, beste Voraussetzungen um einen erholsamen Uralub zu verbringen. Die Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft der Fam. Krsticevic ist gar nicht hoch genug zu bewerten. Ich würde 6 Sterne vergeben, wenn es möglich wäre.
