'Everything was as advertised ,clean and functional. The host went out of her way to make sure that my experience was first class and it was. A big shout out to her neighbor who pitch hit for her When she hurt her leg. It’s very close to the train station maybe five minutes by car and it made the right into Douro very very easy.'

'Fomos acolhidos pela dona Arminda e o senhor Antonio, pessoas muito simpaticas. Fomos muito bem acolhidos. A casa onde nos ficamos se situava no rês do chao. Pois é uma casa onde pode haver outra reserva nas mesmas datas. Mas os espaços sao totalmente independentes. A casa é muito bem equipada, limpinha e fresquinha. Os equipamentos exteriores sao excelentes (piscina e churrasqueira 5 estrelas). O unico premonor que nos incomodou foi de estar um cao a solta que nao estava descrito na descriçao...

'Voorzieningen waren prima. Mooie ligging. Er was een mogelijkheid om eten te bestellen, dat werd aan huis bezorgd op een tray. Enige minpunt was dat de airco, die in alle kamers aanwezig was, veel lawaai maakte en dus de nachtrust verstoorde. '

'Huis staat op prachtige locatie aan de rivier. Het is wel een steile helling van en naar het strandje. Auto is onmisbaar voor deze locatie. We hebben een leuke tijd gehad, goed geslapen en leuke uitstapjes gemaakt. Huiseigenaar is zeer behulpzaam en reageerde altijd heel snel op onze vragen.'

'We, family of three, enjoyed our stay very much. Helena and Francisco are very warm and welcoming people. Their son and daughter speak English well. The garden is beautifull with the waterfalls, the little lake and the vinyard. The cottages are well kept and much prettier than the pictures show. The outdoor kitchen with fridge which we shared with one other family was a pleasant surprise. If you are looking for peace and quiet you will love this place.'

'We spent a lovely week at Casa do Vimieiro. We were 2 couples, and the house was spacious comfortable, and clean. Susana responded to queries very promptly. The countryside is beautiful. My only caution is that driving in the area is not for the faint of heart. Also, people with mobility issues should avoid the house as there are many stairs and uneven steps going into the property. 'Our family spent a week at this property and we cannot say enough good things about it. The house itself was spotlessly clean, the pool and view was amazing and the house, including the kitchen, fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. There was lots of room for everyone in our group and each bedroom having its own bathroom was a big plus. We didn’t want to leave at the end of our stay and would not hesitate to return again!'

Vegan friendly place, amazing view and kind staff
"We had an amazing stay. The staff is kind and will do everything to ensure you have a pleasant stay. We asked for a vegan breakfast, and the staff, since they weren't sure what we would eat, asked what we loved and ensured we got it. If you're vegan- just let them know in advance what you prefer (the supermarkets nearby have a lot of vegan products). The view was breathtaking, and the entire place was unique and felt like home. The room we had was super comfortable and although the place has great pictures, in real, the room looked even better than the pictures. So overall - the high rank is definitely justified! We had an amazing time and hope to come back again in the future!"
