Breathe the fresh country air…feel the crisp pond waters…hold hands while wandering the paths…and gaze at the wonderment of the stars through the pine trees.

The short journey from St.Marys, Ontario’s stone town, will take you to your own oasis, away from everything. Whispering Pines Retreat is just 10 minutes from St.Marys, 20-30 minutes from London and 2 hours from Toronto.

You may come in need of a connection to nature or just a break from everyday life. You will go home a different person, enriched from the experience of living among trees, away from the city.

Whispering Pines Retreat is an off-grid establishment built on a 27 acre wooded lot. Your biggest adjustment will be getting used to no noise. You will not hear cars driving by or the honking of car horns. Rather, you will be sung poetry by birds, hear the breeze whistling among the trees and be fully embraced by nature.

You enter Whispering Pines Retreat by driving down a quaint lane surrounded by towering pine and black walnut trees. As you amble around the pond, you will come to your home away from home. The 1,350+ square foot second floor welcomes you with many of the comforts of home including two queen size beds, dining table, automatic coffee maker, comfy sofas, pool table, ping pong table and so much more. The open concept makes it easy to view nature even while you are inside – from trees to a sprawling organic farm field, to the many birds that make Whispering Pines Retreat their home.

Very relaxing - loved not seeing anybody - it was great for a forest bath vibe - tech savvy internally - super clean and had everything you need - great place to stay to start writing that book you’ve always dreamed of !! Bring a cooler of food and snacks and you will be set for a weekend away from the buzz of life - I’m going back if the host will have me - best VRBO I’ve been to.

This is a beautiful peaceful wooded rural retreat. Very cozy & comfortable with pleasant clean decor & quality amenities. Enjoyed swimming in the fresh water pond & a walk on the property. Quiet, private retreat

Beautiful place to stay, you start to relax as soon as you turn into the driveway. The retreat is so quiet, and property is gorgeous. The hosts have thought of everything you need. There is a pond that you can swim in, or sit beside and relax. Lots of frogs to entertain the kids.Lots to do close by, kids loved the quarry in St.Mary's.

Absolute Oasis

We stayed at Whispering Pines while our son played in a little league baseball tournament in St. Marys. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The hosts have thought of everything and communication with them was easy. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. If you're in the area I recommend this place above all others.

A forest bathing delight

We spent the weekend at Whispering Pines and are returning home feeling well rested. Gorgeous sunsets filtering though the trees, perfect nature walks, a cozy campfire, sitting by the pond, watching and listening to the bullfrogs while reading and chatting.... it was outdoor perfection.Indoors the place was immaculate and had everything we needed. We had an easy time cooking and BBQing. The beds were comfy, the shower pressure perfect, the pool table and Apple TV and comfy couches excellent for relaxing during a rain storm.Lovely place all around.

Amazing Getaway

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Whispering Pines! This is our third year coming here and we will continue to come back! Each year, we have such a wonderful time, and there is so much to do on the property! There is an amazing trail on the property for those who love to walk trails, a pond to swim in, and an area to have a campfire! When entering the property, the amount of trees is unbelievable and breathtaking. The retreat is clean and spacious and has a wonderful view of the trees! It is such a peaceful and relaxing place to be. Gail and Andy are great to communicate with and are always available if you have any questions! Overall, we had a wonderful stay this year and can't wait to come back next summer!

Restful Whispering Pines

This is a wonderfully quiet and relaxing space to stay which is huge inside, air-conditioned, well equipped and a joy to holiday in. There is plenty of hot water for the excellent shower within the bathroom. We liked the open plan space which is a total change for us from separate rooms. The surrounding roads are very quiet and easy to drive if you are from overseas and normally drive on the other side of the road. This is not a party location, but a quiet place, surrounded by trees to be enjoyed for the solitude. There is a short walk to a deep pool for swimming or just relaxing on the decking to the side. Whilst located out in the countryside, good shops for food and mementoes are to be found 10-15 minutes away in St.Marys, the locally made chocolate is superb, and the riverside walk an excellent easy stroll. A visit to Niagara Falls is a must and has an excellent visitors centre. A holiday location which sets the benchmark!

Fabulous!

Whispering Pines Retreat is the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The retreat is clean, spacious, welcoming and quiet, The views of the pine woods are lovely. The kitchen and bathroom are thoughtfully and generously stocked. The property is beautiful, and we enjoyed walking the path and discovering hidden picnic spots. Gail and Andy have created a wonderful retreat.

We wanted to get away from the city for a few days and Whispering Pines was great! We were grateful that the drive was less demanding than a "cottage country" trip and having a big quiet living space - complete with a pool table - was excellent! Whispering Pines Retreat is a Hidden Gem!

Whispering Pintes Retreat is our first experience with VRBO and would could not have asked for a better choice of location. Believe the pictures; the home looks exactly as shown and described! The loft was clean and well decorated. Part of the appeal why we booked was that they had many little extras that other places don't offer (linens, shampoo, paper towels!!!). Though it may not sound like much, it matters! Just a 10 minute drive brings you into a quaint town that has anything you may have forgotten. The property is gorgeous and very well maintained. Most of our day time was spent by the private pond enjoying the quietness and nature. Swimming was fun as well as just sitting on the dock watching the sunrise, playing cards under the umbrella, or soaking in the rays serenaded by the frogs. Our hosts live very close by but we saw them only at check in (we got there early) and once more for a quick "howdy do!" while passing by. If we had any questions they were very quick to help within minutes via text. Seriously, if you have clicked on this property, book it! We plan on returning!
