'I had been looking at rental cabins near the Royal Gorge for Memorial Day weekend and was about to book a place closer to Cañon City when this place showed up online. The pictures looked good and the location was very close to the main road toRoyal Gorge where other family members were staying. Four of us stayed in the cabin which was exceptionally clean and well appointed (it does not have a television as listed in the amenities, but the internet worked well (surprising given its location)...

'We had a great time at this VRBO- it was super close to Salida and about an hour outside of Cañon City which meant we had plenty to do! The decor was beautiful and very well maintained. I’d say the only drawback was that we had some difficulty sleeping with the unfamiliar sounds of the road nearby and the heater kicking on/off. The flood lights near the entrance were required to stay on at all times and the coverings on the door were sheer so light was still let into the space. Other than that...

'We had a great stay. Excellent location for fishing Arkansas River and we did day trips to Monarch and San Dunes. Cabin is nicely located among some ranches/farms with good privacy and away from roads. Saw deer and elk from the cabin most days. Excellent place for a low-key reunion with friends. Great communication from owner and property management company.'

'Very enjoyable experience! Of course, there was the mild inconvenience of having to hike a short distance to the bathroom facilities. Also, it would be helpful to provide guests with easy-to-read instructions (perhaps a hard copy print inside yurt) on how to operate the fire pit. Otherwise, highly recommended.'

'We had a wonderful time at Star Mesa cabin. It suited us perfectly. The privacy and beauty really set this place apart. Communication was immediate and amenities were everything you enjoy at home. For us it was located just far enough out of town to get away from the congestion and noise but close enough to drive in for groceries or a nice dinner without much hassle. We will absolutely book this cabin again!'
