« This place is a gem. The cabin was meticulously appointed. Everything looks as though it’s brand new. I would put this host in the top 1% of those I have encountered. They communicated well and proactively. Extremely helpful and accommodating. Not to mention that they’re just nice people. I even knocked off a bucket list item by catching my first gar here. I would definitely stay here again. »

« This is a great place to stay, staff was great. A little disappointed the restaurant was closed Tuesday and Wednesday but the pool was great and the area of the lake was pretty quiet. The cabin was nice, we will be back. »

« We enjoyed the cabin very much. The one exception was the road in and out of the property. I reported it to the call center as impassable. I incurred damage to my vehicle due to the poor condition of the road. This while crawling up the road no more than a few miles per hour. Totally unacceptable. The call center was rude and at times not understandable due to very heavy foreign accents. I was wondering who owns the road? Is it private? County owned? All questions asked the call center who...

« We had an amazing stay! The cabin is the perfect setting—so cozy and inviting. It had everything we needed and more. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we truly felt right at home. We especially appreciated having a washer and dryer available. We will definitely be back! »

« We had peaceful getaway at the Hix Lake and Cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable with a well-equipped, generously stocked kitchen. Its location on the private lake is serene with no other houses in sight.The real show-stopper was the outdoor areas. We enjoyed morning coffee on the wrap around porch looking out at the lake and listening to the birdsong. The hot tub was a relaxing way to unwind. Fishing at the private lake was a lot of fun. « Dark and creepy if you’re a single female staying alone. Shower and toilet are a short distance to walk to at night with minimal light. The owners are on site which was comforting to know after realizing who the random lady was that in fact scared the heck out of my guest by beating on the window of their vehicle. Overall not extremely terrible but probably wouldn’t stay there again.. »
