East Orleans - walk to Nauset Beach

Ocean view and just a 10 minute walk to Nauset Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, The Friendship House offers home away from home comfort for a small family or a couple.

A large bright fully-equipped kitchen is ready for the chef or simple fare. The cozy dining area adjoins the kitchen and off the dining area is a living area for TV entertainment or listening to the surf when the wind comes off the ocean. The large living room has a fireplace and TV. An outdoor shower has hot and cold water, great after a day at the beach. Window AC's cool the entire home.

The Friendship House includes the main home, which is available for rent. A separate self contained dwelling with a separate entrance adjoining the house and an apartment above a detached garage are rented on an annual basis. The owner resides in the adjoining apartment. Ample parking is available.

From this charming beach home enjoy all outdoor activities. Weekly parking passes are available at Nauset Beach and Skaket Beach,which is known for its long sandbars and numerous tidal pools, great fun for kids of all ages.

Beach necessities: towels, chairs, coolers, wind screens, etc..., are provided. Rent a surf board or bogie board and ride the waves at Nauset. After dark gaze at ALL the stars, free from the cloud of light pollution.

Cleaning fees are included in the weekly rates.

The Friendship House is more than a summer rental, it is a home available to guests.

The cottage was easy to locate, all the charm of Cape cottage. David, owner, greeted us on arrival and was friendly and helpful. Spotless home had been his mother’s. I could feel the love in that house. The kitchen had every utensil and plate imaginable. Cupboards had spices and cupboards every plate and cup and glass for a big party. Parking and entrance are in the rear of the house. There’s a large back deck with outdoor dining. The beds were comfortable with extra throws if the nights had been cool. Nauset Beach was perhaps a mile away. We drove down, could have walked. Orleans is a charming town with restaurants, shops, playhouse and grocery stores. Everything we could want without being a tourist trap. Real people live here.

Relaxing home, great kitchen (maybe the best-equipped we've experienced in a rental unit), loved the barbecue on the deck. Home itself is spacious with two sitting areas. Short 10 minute walk to Nauset Beach, which is delightful. David is quick to respond to any questions. Wonderful experience.

The house is the most comfortable and well-stocked VRBO I've ever visited. Our host David was extremely welcoming and very helpful. He answered our every query immediately. His living quarters are attached to the part of the house we rented, and we never heard a peep - he said he didn't hear us, either, so that is simply not an issue. The location is lovely - a porch overlooking a lovely grassy yard, a martini-view of the beach beyond. Best equipped kitchen ever - there wasn't a tool we wanted that we couldn't find. We had a wonderful time in David's house - felt immediately comfortable and at home. Highest recommendation.

Repeat visitor repeatedly satisfied

This is the fourth (fifth?) time we have stayed at this property. It is a convenient walk down to Nauset Beach, and in the other direction a short drive to the markets, shops and restaurants in Orleans and East Orleans. The kitchen is very well stocked for anyone who wants to cook in, which we did several times during our two week stay. The living area is comfortable for TV or reading, and we slept well on the beds. We plan to be back next summer. That should suggest something pretty positive.

Disclaimer: I did not personally stay at the property. I rented this for my Mom for her birthday. She stayed there with 3 other adults all 60 years of age.Everything about the property and location was amazing. 5 stars, truly.The issue I have is the lack of CLEARLY stating the the owner is LIVING IN THE HOUSE with the guests. Now, is it possible I missed that being called out on the listing? Absolutely. If it were just that, I would consider the problem to be on me as I didn't read the listing properly. If this information were listed (which again, I did not see) I still would not expect the host to be IN THE HOUSE. Imagine you are having a conversation with your family and the host just pops his head out from the upstairs window and joins in. Or you are in your bedroom chatting with your spouse and you hear the owner comment to you through the wall or door... No... I'm sorry .. .that is not an acceptable experience. The host was a verry very nice man and the property is very nice, but I was mislead. I'm leaving this review so that others have the PROPER information to make informed choices.

The House is absolutely amazing! Very clean and cozy, from the first step it seems like you came to visit a very close and loving relative. 10 minutes walking to a wonderful, clean, sandy beach with lifeguards, and we enjoyed swimming with seals for all the time we were there :)Thank you, David, for letting us stay at your stunning place!

Total Relaxation

It’s been a couple of years since we were at The Cape. This is our favorite location, Nauset Beach, Orleans, Chatham and Brewster. The house was in a great location, central to all we wanted to do and a 10 min walk to the beach. The house was well equipped for day to day needs. Everything was clean and organized. The area is quiet and peaceful. We would definitely rent again and highly recommend.

Our usual comfortable stay

We have stayed at this property multiple times and likely will again. It is a great location, parking around the back. It is clean and ready when we arrive. There is a large kitchen with a center island, oodles of kitchen supplies and equipment. We walk down and back from Nauset Beach, and it's only about a three minute drive into Orleans and stores, restaurants, and the Cape Cod rail trail. Enjoy.

Wonderful week on the Cape!

Property was just as photos show. Darling little cottage, well loved and cared for. Although we had absolutely no issues whatsoever, I think the description should be clearer that the owner lives in the same home, on the other side, and upstairs. It should also mention that there's another rental directly behind, above the detached garage. Beach parking is $30/day; however we went many times in the early morning and after 5pm at no charge and it was lovely! Highly recommend The Barley Neck restaurant right down the street, as well as smitty's homemade ice cream! We weren't fans of "The Whisk". Dave is very nice and avaliable. Very nice area, gorgeous Nauset Beach! Thanks for having us!

A Comfortable Stay

This is our second time renting this property and it continues to please. It's comfortable, in a wonderful setting, and walkable to Nauset Beach, where parking has increased to $30. We use the well stocked kitchen for meals, and the living room for evening TV. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Home away from home

This property is well kept, comfortable, and full of personality. It is equipped with everything a guest needs and is decorated with knick knacks, books, and collectibles that reflect the owner's long history in this home. It's a quiet spot just a short walk down Beach Road to Nauset Beach. One bedroom has a double bed (and we are not large people, so that was fine for us.) The other has 2 twins. I would stay here again.

Great house and neighborhood

A perfect sized house for 3-4 people with room to spread out. Easy walk to the beach and a nice deck and backyard. We really enjoyed that there were no lights in the back yard on all night and you could see the stars.
