Whimsical Cottage with Gorgeous Views of the Bay, overlooking Russell Marina.

Enjoy the family friendly community of East Point, near the town of Onancock, VA. Please feel free to use our two single kayaks, and two tandem kayaks, at your own risk, to discover the bay. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a three season room. Front porch, and back porch with plenty of seating. Large bar room that has a table that seats 6, board games, and a dart board for entertainment! There is also a formal table in the living room that seats 6 as well. This home is directly across from the Russell Marina, with great views of the water, and sunrise. 2400 sq ft on .61 acre lot, plenty of space to relax.

This is a beautiful house with spacious rooms and classic furniture (and the host was quick to answer questions). It has a real nice kitchen, washer & dryer, and two bathrooms, so the six of us were quite comfortable. Totally safe, it feels kind of like staying at your grandmother’s house. I loved just sitting on the shady front porch with the breeze coming off the water, looking at the boats in the marina. We had a great vacation with this house as our base. We drove around the peninsula looking at historic buildings (identified in a book on the coffee table), eating at a seafood restaurant, and seeing the historic town of Cape Charles and its beach. We took the Joyce Marie II out to Tangier Island. We went to the town of Chincoteague and Assateague National Seashore. And we just enjoyed each other’s camaraderie in a beautiful setting.

Vintage Beach Cottage by the Bay

Spacious well-equipped cottage including the kitchen. You will find everything that you need for your stay was provided. The owner (Colette) was readily available and very helpful during our stay. Our grandchildren loved the beach and were really excited to catch blue crabs. The neighbors are very friendly and made us feel right at home.

What a wonderful property for families and friends to get together. There are plenty of things to do here plenty of things to do nearby. Easy check in and check out, the nearby private beach was small but lovely, the home had just about everything you could want and plenty of spaces for people to spread out. We would have taken advantage of the kayaks and bicycles had we encountered better weather, but there was still enough to do here and nearby for everyone in our group. Thanks again for being such great hosts!

Charming Cottage

Very charming, very comfortable and well equipped. The owner has thought of everything to make our stay easy. A very quiet neighborhood across from marina. A good base to explore the area -- art galleries in Oconocock, Chincoteague and Cape Charles. Wonderful!

Thanksgiving Stay in East Point

Our family had a great time staying there for Thanksgiving. The house was charming and beautifully decorated in the style of the Eastern Shore. Plenty of space to hang out or spread out! The kids really loved the Turtle Room We would certainly stay here again!

Wonderful Getaway!

My husband and I loved our stay at the Whimsical Cottage. We enjoyed the eclectic touches in each room. The view from the porch of the marina/water was beautiful. The beach was around the corner, an easy walk or bike ride. Again, beautiful views. The hosts are so friendly, helpful and went out of their way to welcome us. The town is small and cute. We enjoyed walking around. Highly recommend this cottage. We hope to be back (and try their other rental as well). Only minus is the iffy internet at times, but who really needs the internet when you are surrounded by such natural beauty!!

Nicely renovated Eastern Shore Farmhouse

Colette was a great host. She provided us with a wealth of information on the area including eating and drinking establishments and things to do. The house is in the waterfront community of East Point convenient to Onancock. Easy day trips to Cape Charles and Wachepreague. The house overlooks the community marina with great views. There is also a community beach with beautiful sunsets. I would certainly recommend the house for a stay on the ESV.

Onancock is beautiful and very relaxing.. we slept better than we have in a long time. The clean, pure air alone is a relief. The house is a gem. City people needing a break can experience the stars again, and yes clean air, plus quiet but for sounds of the surf. Nice, decent, down to earth people in Accomack County will look you in the eye and say “good morning”. Took me off guard at first. Onancock and Accomack county, I hesitate to even write this review because I don’t want the rest of the world to see it and come and spoil you. But if you want to breathe clean air, listen to nothing but surf, stay in a comfy house, get to know the stars again and be amongst people who look each other in the eye and say “good morning”, this is the place to be

Home away from home

This home is so fun to stay at. Beautiful on inside and out and so much to keep everyone entertained. This is definitely a place to relax and enjoy nature! We had a great time riding bikes in the area, crabbing, playing games that the house provides, relaxing on screened porch watching the boats come in and out, going to the areas private beach to enjoy sunset, and spending time in the quaint town of Onancock. The owner was so kind to send us information on activities going on in town and communicating everything we needed to know and responding quickly to questions. I would highly recommend a stay in this home!! We would definitely come back!!!

Peaceful and charming getaway

A great place for a family vacation to recharge and relax. Private and secluded, yet close enough for an easy 30-45 minute drive to other areas on the eastern shore. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the front porch watching the birds and listening to the water. The house is beautifully decorated, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Beds are comfy, AC works great, and there is no shortage of items to use in the home. Very positive communication with the owner, quick responses. We are so happy we chose this home for our rental this year and look forward to returning very soon!
