When our family arrived at night on day 1, we noticed a large volume of mouse droppings all over the master bedroom headboard and couch. It was too late to make other arrangements. I messaged the host, who, like everyone said, was very responsive. He stated that they have a pest control service but, being at the bottom of a mountain, couldn’t keep all the critters out. Understandable, but it had still obviously been some time since the home was last cleaned in general due to the sheer volume of droppings everywhere. That same night, as we were sleeping, you could hear the shuffling noises of a mouse (or mice) and scratching noises at the wall. We also noticed a mouse trap underneath the master bed; that’s not reassuring. We found more droppings the next day on a kitchen window sill, a coaster on the table, the coffee table centerpiece, couches in the livingroom, and under the kitchen sink. It was all so unsettling, and, we were up often throughout the night unable to sleep. I only wished someone had posted a review like this if they had this experience. My family would have never booked here. Maybe mice don’t bother others, but, for us, it’s a deal-breaker. Additionally, the pictures are a little misleading. They give off a newly remodeled, bright, airy, vibe and that is not the current actual state. Additionally, there were other things that needed maintenance, and the house had a total of THREE washcloths. Unfortunately, we were not pleased with this stay.
