'Fabulous location with friendly hosts. We stayed here with my limited-mobility mother and four teens, and it was the best weekend getaway we’ve had for ages. Loved the house, the location, the setting, and the welcoming environment. The downstairs bedrooms (a couple of steps up from the driveway), showers with only a low step, and a downstairs living area meant my mum, who walks with a stick, didn’t have to struggle with full flights of stairs. 'The house is very well equipped and is private. Awesome deck which looks out to bush and a reserve. The beds are very hard, which was the only down fall for us. If you like a hard bed then the house is perfect.'

'Great place to stay for a long weekend getaway. House is very cool with lots of space to play and have quiet time if needed. Lovely big lawn to activities, kayaks and dinghy were great. Lots of toys books and dvds for rainy days. Pretty much all bases are covered! Such a special place highly recommend.'

'This property was a solid 3.5-4 out of 5. Great location in Havelock - walking distance to the pubs and local shops. Easy parking, on street and one in the driveway. Fireplace with loads of wood, comfortable beds and lots of extra blankets, nice big living room, dining table etc. Would be great for a family or group of friends. The downsides were that the towels are quite old and very small, and there is limited crockery and cutlery in the kitchen, and only 3 wine glasses, which seemed strange...

'Lovely family gathering for Christmas. Stayed for 8 nights. Relaxing and plenty for us to do. We brought our own boat and had a mooring provided. Our hosts were amazing, everything was thought of. They met us at the jetty and transported all our gear up to the bach and were available whenever we needed to get out to the boat. The beach where you land is beautiful and there is enough walking and views to keep you busy doing lots or a little. Just a warning they sell beautiful pāua pearl...

'The place is remote and fabulous with a steep gravel driveway and set far above the road for noiseless nights of stargazing. It requires a little bit of off grid savvy but nothing even this 60 year old New Yorker couldn’t learn in seconds. The view is absolutely stunning, the house is quite comfortable.
