Good stay for one night - just wish my window wasn’t facing the wind and rain so I could have opened it more overnight. It got a bit warm in the night for my hot-blooded self. But everything was fine. Would have appreciated one more pillow but could have asked for one and didn’t.

Clean and adequate for the price in a nice beachside area. It was extremely helpful that they allowed checkin age of 18 as I reserved the hotel for my teenagers. One does not ever expect a 5 star hotel for Motel 6, but was safe, clean and organized. Will stay there again whenever I need a quick trip to the coast.

It was so nasty, stinky, noisy that we did not stay there. I was horrified. I am 70 years old and never been to to such a nasty motel.You need to take it off your list. I asked the desk clerk if she could promise there are no bed bugs and she said “no”. It looked so much better online. We ended up staying at the Waldport Inn 20 miles south and my friend, Teresa had to pay for that. The desk clerk there said Motel 6 in Newport has a bad reputation, that should tell you something. Please give me a refund as I did not stay there.

I was here for a celebration of life, the hotel was really accommodating with letting me in earlier than anticipated due to my situation. The staff is extremely friendly, great location. I would absolutely stay here again.

Paid in advance in full through Expedia for 3 nights. Phoned the hotel we needed to check in the next day instead as we were driving at night in hazardous weather. Hotel refused and hung up on my wife. We paid for our room in advance. What difference does it make? Stay away from this dump!

Rooms were pretty basic but very clean and there was even a fireplace! I couldn’t figure out how to work the thing of course but I also didn’t ask the front desk. The only complaint I have is the vending machine was out of order and the front desk closes at 10 pm so I wasn’t able to get a bottle of water. One other thing that was irritating (but wasn’t the property’s fault) is the people above us were stomping back and forth from 5:30 am until we left at 7:45 am.

The front desk person was very rude and unhelpful. The room needed updating. Neither of the faucets worked well. The safety latch on the door was broken. There was a large gap around the door admitting alot of light.

Great location within walking distance of the Hatfield Science Center, estuary trail, aquarium, and Rogue Brewery. The property was clearly aged but the room was clean and spacious. No coffee in the room. There was a coffee station in the lobby but I never saw any coffee there either. The TV didn’t have any inputs so bring your own computer and HDMI cord if you want to watch something. The fireplace also didn’t work. Linens were thin and sparse but at least the room was adequately warm. Overall, it’s far from luxury but it was affordable and I would stay there again.

Excellent location.
We come every year for The Newport Seafood and Wine festival, first time staying at this hotel. Very convenient location, room was large and comfortable. Large mini fridge and microwave in room. Large counter and sitting area. We did have random people nocking at our door several times during the night and there was some drilling done in either an adjacent room or above us at 7am on a Saturday so our sleep was not restful. Only one luggage cart available for the whole hotel, we where able to use it checking in but checking out the cart was nowhere to be seen and I walked all 3 floors, parking lot and lobby looking for the cart. I know that there is coffee and tea available at the lobby but my preference would be to add a coffee maker in the rooms so people don’t have to change clothes just to get coffee. Only 2 bath towels available and they where small, so there should be 4 towels for a party of 2. There where no tissues in our room just and empty space for them. Front desk people and cleaning people where very pleasant and welcoming. Our stay might have not been perfect but we would definitely stay here again. Maybe next time will be better.

Nice TV, lousy remote controller for TV.
Overall, a very nice accommodation. Our remote for the TV was very worn out (could not read command buttons) and as a result had to press ultra hard to make anything happen. No kleenex in the sink holder.

Great staff
Staff makes the entire stay worth it. They were helpful and polite the entire time. When I called in advance with a question they were helpful. During our stay they were kind and polite. I even forgot my jacket and they called to inform me and helped with arrangements to return my items to me.

It Could Have Been…
I paid extra for a hot tub suite only to have ZERO hot water. The temperature of the water was barely even lukewarm. I contacted the front desk agent who assured me she would contact management, but nothing ever happened in response. I wanted to give a better review because the place was clean and comfortable, but a lack of customer service on the management’s part was mind blowing. When attempting to check out the following day the lobby was locked up at 8:15 and no one could be found. Even the elevator maintenance man couldn’t get assistance. I left my key cards in my room and tried several times to call to let them know, but never got an answer. The housekeeping staff did a good job, however management lacks the ability to ensure return guests with a complete absence of care.

we were in 202 and i swear there was a herd of elephants in 302. got us up every morning at 0630 tromping on our ceiling. i am not a well person and we went to coast for a quiet restful time. friday night they were tromping so loud you could not here the news on the tv. the lobby was locked and there was no broom in the room to beat on the ceiling to make them be quiet. went to the lobby saturday at 0700 and there was no one in the office to complain to. will not be staying there again

The price wasn't bad. Definitely need to get coffee in the rooms for the guests. And if they're going to make coffee for guests in the lobby it needs to be sooner than 7:00 in the morning. A lot of people get up earlier than that to go to work and do other things in the area to start their day and they have to go get coffee somewhere else.

Ive stayed here numerous times without problem. This time, the lock on my door was broken. I asked for the lock to be repaired or another eoom with a working lock. The receptionist refused to move me. There were plenty of other rooms but none they said were comparable. And since I booked through expedia they said they couldnt help me. Im a female traveling alone and I told reception I did not feel safe without a working lock. She called her manager and he said to just refund my money. It was 8pm and I had no where else to sleep. The girl at reception said thats not her problem. It was either sleep in my car on the side of the road, drive around trying to find another hotel or just stay here with a chair to the door knob (which didnt even reach). I will NEVER stay here again.
